it's against the rules to make threads about other members, no matter who they are. So we are really not going make a public thread where people can spit their gall about staff members. If you have an issue with a mod, either contact a higher ranking staff member or make a thread in the Private Questions section, but this suggestion is nothing more than legitimized public piss pole.
And btw the first thing a new mod has to do, is read the do's and don'ts about modship.
Helpful if you are female, yes.
The problem with for example Ira is that she does like to:
- take part in NB drama aka political threads and express her opinion, which is ofcourse a normal thing to do, BUT not if you don't accept anything else and straight up infract/ban people who oppose her
Example:
1 month ago someone posted a thread about indian taking money due to an upcoming crisis created by an african member. She was like "Why does it matter to you"
1: News are spread all over the world so everyone can participate/talk about it
Everyone who responded to her comment got an 2 infractions for 1 month. Mine expires on December 12th.
Caliburn:
- serious guy who follows the rules, which is good tbh. Shoutout to you for that
BUT not when you don't accept anything else and straight up threaten to ban/infract/ban from section
Example: Lordraikages Thread yesterday who tried to convince the members that God has to exist
Lordraikage insulted and went offtopic in other threads and deserved an infraction maybe, but not to that extent that CALIBURN threatened him to ban him + ban him from the section JUST BECAUSE HE HAS ANOTHER VIEW ON GOD
Don't tell me that Lordraikage did this in the past because EVERYONE did that. 80% of NB should be banned from the section aswell then.
Short:
-Ira doesnt accept people opposing her and straight up infracs/bans + bans from the thread
-Caliburn triggered over Lordraikages view on god which is the opposite of Caliburns view and threatened to ban him aswell as ban him from the whole general discussion section
And this is a prime example as why this is a horrible idea. A guy who collected sixteen pages of infractions and numerous bans is giving his highly biased analysis about mods and what's wrong with them. This post alone is breaking the rules. So you are breaking the rules trying to get a suggestion through that is breaking the rules. You also largly disregard the role of the members themselves here, who are most of the time the ones who are fault, but who rather complain about the mods who punished them than adjusting their behavior and accepting responsibility.
I can issue verbal warnings at any place at any time I want on NB. The person you are referring to has an extremely bad history. Made a joke of a thread where he pretty much started pissing and insulting on people who were atheists, a person who frequently gets reported for similar rule-breaking behavior, but when I give him a chance despite having enough reasons to infract him around 4 or 5 times over for that thread alone, I am "threatening" him. In the end what you are doing is nothing more than distorting things up to the point it becomes convenient for you, hence this suggestion is never going to be implemented.
