Action Anime Suggestions

I've been wanting to find a good action anime to watch but haven't come across any good ones.
I'm looking for a 12 or 24 episode long anime.
I've already seen:

And some others that I cant think of right now xd

1. Neon Genesis Evangelion (awesome mind-screwing, mecha anime).
2.Akira (hahaha Again, didn't watch it completely, but it's awesome!).

Basilisk is definitely one of the best animes out there, you MUST finish it.
I'll look into Neon Genesis Evangelion and I've already seen Akira.
