Not really a true king of dragons, considering Acnologia was a human once. More like a tyrant that rose through the ranks and turned himself in to a powerful being that is feared by his kind.

Yes... When you look at the Dragon's skin you can see their element.
Igneel - red/flame = Fire
Metalicana = Iron same with the others.
His skin is the blue/black, he's also know as The Black Dragon or The Black Dragon in the Book of Apocalypse. His element have to be black/dark and like DarthPenance said Apocalypse.
