Achilles appears to be a great ninja just from his appearance, one who would be admired by any man or woman, young or old. While his face is pleasing to the eyes, it is not like the knights or ninja of old whose courteousness softened the hearts of noble ladies. He has the eyes of a raptor, a strong and firm build, and the lack of any appearance of crudeness. He has light green spiky hair that is buzzed along the sides, amber eyes, and wears a set of light armor over his torso, shoulders, and legs from the knee down. Around his torso is an orange sash of sorts that hangs behind him like a scarf.

"Live like a hero and die like a hero."Achilles is described as being broad-minded and audacious, often displaying a carefree smile on his face. He is not one to rebel against all authority, but he is far removed from regular ninja who valiantly serve kage. Even if ordered by his own kage or higher up, he is one who will not accept tasks he does not wish to complete, showing his nature as a "hero." He thinks little of those called kings or kage, so he has "fatal lack of compatibility" many in the world. In such a way, he once openly ignored orders from a higher up he disliked, only taking arms for the sake of a slain comrade. While he is able to stand stern against those he has marked as enemies, he becomes soft when faced with those whom he has already marked as "good people" when they temporarily remove themselves from being his ally.
He has striven to live his life in such a way that he is constantly the target of killing intent and hateful animosity, and he has become accustomed to it. He was one who stood out alongside other shinobi, displaying confidence in any battle and a great will to fight. His thirst for blood is such that normal humans will have their spirits utterly crumble before him. He freely boasts before his opponents and mocks them severely, even while outnumbered and not fighting at full power. To him, his family and true friends mean all the world, so such things are nothing to him.
He lives by the vow he made with his mother at a young age, "live like a hero and die like a hero."

Achilles was born in a small village on the outside of Iwagakure's borders. His mother had been a renowned shinobi for her entire life, being known as "The Earthen Princess", while his father was but a simple farmer. Achilles' parents got along on every level, besides how they thought their son should live his life. "The Earthen Princess" considered it a waste of such raw talent to not have their son be sharpened into a fine shinobi, while his father Peleus thought it too dangerous, and claimed that he would need help on the farm with another mouth to feed.
So, they asked their son.
That was that, their parents sent Achilles off at the age of but three, to be trained in the arts of a shinobi, as well as a general education. For nine years, Achilles trained with the Radiant Surgebinder, Chiron. Chrion taught Achilles basic ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu, and kenjutsu. He taught him strategy, how to use weapons properly, and more. He taught him math, music, science, all of the works. It was also through Chiron that Achilles learned how to wield a spear, which quickly became his favorite weapon and most reliable means of combat. An expert, as some might say. He gave him everything. After the nine years he had spent with Chiron, he had a vision. It was of Achilles, grown as a fine young man, wielding the powers of a Surgebinder. Chiron decided that he would teach him the ways of the Surgebinders in time.
At the age of 23, Achilles had engaged in warfare with a large organization of ex-Iwarians. They laid siege upon the faction and their village, Troy, in hope of putting down the rebellious group of missing-nin. Achilles famously killed Hector at the battle of Troy, ending their rebellion as the gates flew open to the organization's village, allowing all of Iwagakure to rush in. In his battle, he promised to fight fairly against the man upon request. That meant no chakra would be involved to Hector. Achilles struck him down with his spear, ending his life, but not without scarring the Hero. It was during this war that he gained nicknames like "Rider", "Rider of Red", and "The Earthen Prince". Achilles rode upon a horse and chariot for much of the battle, which was covered in the blood of his enemies by the end. The proficiency that he exemplified in earth release, along with his lineage, gave him the nickname, "The Earthen Prince".
Achilles found no sense of pride in his slaughtering of the missing nin, especially in the case of Hector. Achilles' already strong dislike of extreme authority in the form of Kages grew deeper, yet he knew not how to change the system to one he might see as more fitting, nor did he know of such a system. There was a period of inner strife in the young man in which his ties to the village and disdain for the corruption in it tugged back and forth. With a kunai against his headband, he had prepared himself to abandon the village. The moment before the mark was to be engraved, there was aknock on his door. Odysseus, one of Achilles' close friends who also participated in the Battle of Troy brought news, there was a new Tsuchikage.
"Feitan."
