How he barely improved? He was roughly equal to Jinbei 3 years ago, both of them grew on power but ace did get stronger than him as time passed, as I said ace was 17 years old when he went to the sea and was on the same level as someone as strong as Jinbei, who is definitely a solid high tier, and comparing ace 17 and luffy 17 than Ace had a better growth rate, he went to NW and got a bounty of 550m, the biggest bounty known to OP, he destroyed crew after crew in his way, while luffy had trouble going to NW, and would get crushed in the first island if he ever went to NW at age of 17 without the timeskip, Ace went and fought WB, and again its not like luffy improved drastically over the 2 years timeskip, for me he is still weaker than Ace as I can see luffy giving only mid diff to doffy while ace would definitely give high diff, but than again ace has 1 more year, Ace 20>=Luffy 19, Luffy 20>=Ace 19.

First 2 years luffy spend training for 2 years and only was able to learn basic haki, as I think its hard to unlock haki but its easier to improve it, and thats why I think ace at 22 years old would be Luffy 22>=Ace 22>= Sabo 22.

Both Luffy and ace have the strongest father's and its common sense to think that the son of the former PK would be stronger than current Sabo, that's the reason why marines were so eager to kill Ace, they knew he would be at the pirate summit one day, and seeing how young he became a pirate that day would be pretty close.

And its not like Sabo had a stronger/better teacher on teaching him haki,fighting etc, if Sabo had Dragon ace had someone even stronger than that WB, as I said Sabo's growth will start to reduce while Ace's would just grow stronger and stronger, if Ace lived on the main contender for the PK title would be Luffy,Ace they both have the best growth rate on the manga, so Oda jut had to kill Luffy's biggest threat/obstacle to the PK/WSM title.

1. Ace had one of the stronger Logias while Luffy has a pretty weak Paramecia. Give Luffy the MMnM and he probably could have done the same thing.

2. Pretty much no pirate in Paradise has Haki, of course Ace would get through it easily.

3. Luffy went from needing the help of his entire crew to beat a Pacifista to one shotting a Pacifista with one of his basic attacks, how is that not drastic?

4. What was the whole point of WB saying that it doesn't matter who you came from if being the son of the PK made you stronger? All it does is give you a high status and a really strong person who can train you, but since Roger died before his birth that is not the case.

5. Sabo was with Dragon for 12 years. If I recall correctly, the manga never states that Ace actually trained with WB for those 3 years. Rayleigh was with Luffy for 1.5 years and he managed to increase Luffy's power drastically, so you would think that 3 years of training with the strongest man would give you more improvement than training with Rayleigh.

6. Coby has the best growth rate in the manga imo, only with a few weeks training he went from being complete fodder to captain level.

1. That has nothing to do with my point that just because your fruit is powerful, doesn't mean you'll be as powerful. Example, Enel.

Sorry man, I thought you guys are talking about Teach which is why I said something like that. Yes,Enel is weak but your logic can't be applied to Teach because he proved that he is an exception from that logic when he got GGNM.

2. Teach wasn't using it with as much control as Newgate was. He lacked Whitebeard's level of control.

I would like you to provide manga back up for this argument.

NOTE: If you are going to post the scans of WB using GGNM powers with weapons then I'd suggest u to not to do it as it won't help you to support your argument.

Sorry man, I thought you guys are talking about Teach which is why I said something like that. Yes,Enel is weak but your logic can't be applied to Teach because he proved that he is an exception from that logic when he got GGNM.

1. No one is an exception to the logic. You can have the strongest DF ever but lose to someone simply because their combat ability far exceeds yours. Current Teach can lose to someone with no DF just because they are immensely faster than him, or have immense durability, or use their weaker DF better.
