This is just a speculation, but I think that Ace knew Sabo was alive. The evidence is shown during Ace’s death, when he said he lived a life with no regrets (he said his only regret is not being able to see Luffy fullfil his dream).
Why didn’t he mention Sabo? Didn’t he regret that Sabo died and wished he was alive? Obviously, that was either because he found out Sabo was alive and with the Revolutionary or he came to terms with him being dead. If he actually knew Sabo’s location, then I would assume he would go and meet with him right away, since he believed he was dead for such a long time. So, when they met, I guess Sabo told him to keep it a sectret from Luffy (knowing Luffy, he would deffinetely come to see him). Maybe Ace even met Dragon, but didn’t know he was Luffy’s father. Or maybe Sabo contacted him before the incident with Blackbeard. Either way, it would be really sad if Ace died not knowing Sabo was alive.
