Anywhere in the world I believe an Accounting degree would be useful to find a job fast.

Accountants have a more important duty and at the slightest mistake in entering money in the wrong journal could cost the company a lot of money as decisions that the business makes are based off the balances recorded in the journals. e.g whether the business should invest a certain money or retain it for the next financial year

I doubt Business administration pays off as much unless you've been working for the company for years. But Accountants also get their increase and it can depend which business we're talking about. If it is profitable and efficient.

But Accountants are still in more demand than a business administrator. Plus a Chartered Accountant's salary can go up to like 1m annually; which a business administrator can doubtfully topple.

From the info you've given you want to choose either but your decision is controlled by whichever has more pay. I think that's not quite a wise line of thought. You know, you could get either but your success all depends on whether you are passionate for the job or not. If you're just working to earn money, eventually you'll lose the spirits for that job and you may even work for years and not get a raise because you just go in the office to get it done and leave. My two cents is you should choose based on what you think you'll be good at, and just forget what everyone may have been saying.

I'm doing my first year in college too and although I want Econometrics because it's promising (has a lot of money) I've decidedly chosen Accounting because I did better in it and I'd grown to enjoy it and I was actually quite better than the latter
