About the sharingan

Once a person awakens the next version of the sharingan can they use the previous one(s)?

For example could a MS user use the initial sharingan or does the better version replace the older ones entirely? I dunno, might be a dumb question, but I was curious.

By initial, I'm guessing you mean either 3T which is an obvious yes >.>

Well yes because when u use ms you go blind so they use three tomoe to preserve their vision unless they have ems then u can just use ms or ems all day.
