He manifested Rikudou Chakra. He couldn't have received Six Paths Senjutsu if the only portion of the Juubi he stole was a part of Hachibi, Ichibi, and 50% Kurama.

I believe the only reason kishi had Naruto activate RSM in the gaiden was to prove he still possess it. If you think about it, Naruto had no reason to use RSM. Naruto could have performed those same jutsu in his BM.

Why don't we see Naruto using his full RSM or TSB, don't know. This manga is know for having characters preform jutsu just once and never use it again. IE: Sasuke, his S/T jutsu is the only rinnegan jutsu he has performed since the war.

PS: Naruto's mode designs are constantly changing. Naruto's mode designs have charged several times since the war. There are different designs in The Last, Gaiden, and Boruto movie.
