You think that is right for the baby? Why should the woman be forced to carry a rape baby with her for 9 months and be constantly reminded of the incident? Not to mention, if the rapist had mental/physical issues or disorders (including psychopathy for example) there's a chance the baby could inherit those conditions.

Lack of sentience doesn't equal lack of life. People in comas, for example. Plants are another.

A zygote is a living creature. The umbilical cord sends nutrients, water and oxygen to the zygote. Why? Because without these things, the zygote won't develop, and will die. Key words: Will die. In order to die, you must be alive. Zygotes are living creatures.

I think people should have a choice. In most cases, I'd say abortion isn't right but IMO, there are definitely some cases where abortion may be a better option or at least something to consider. Riker and Fuzzy Panda hinted at some of those earlier but like I said, in most cases, abortion shouldn't be an option.

No. A few other people disagreed with me and I didn't call their comments dumb. You're talking as if abortion is just wacking into the stomach so that baby dies. If someone was dumb enough to do what they said a baby wouldn't be the only thing dead/severly injured. There is a reason why abortion should not be legalized besides the moral ones and it's the fact that it's never safe.

I would want to be aborted if I was going to be born mentally retarded. It puts a lot of emotional pain on your parents knowing that their kid cant become successful because of its mental condition.

A fetus isn't sentient until it is born.

Sentience is irrelevant because 8 month babies aren't sentient either and you can't abort those. The same should apply to early stage fetuses.
