Prologue: The Conversation
Darkness is what it begins with .........
Deep inside a dungeon a faint yellowish light flickered casting long shadows of inanimate objects. Among these was but one shadow that belonged to a living being or we may just call him a being for now. The mans shadow fell long and wide. It was not any shadow ever seen before it was denser darker and more solid than anything man has ever known. Then out of the dungeon comes a voice or rather an trembling of walls and dust rising all over the place. The figure who cast the shadow stood bowed before a opening in the ground it was a wide opening. The yellowish light that spread across the dungeon was from this source. The otherworldly sound seemed to be coming from this fissure the other figure stood quiet as if remembering a memorandum.
The dialogue between the two that followed was :
The figure who stood bowed outside - Dark
The voice emanating out of the fissure - S
S: (a deep grave voice beyond any normal vocal frequency) What is the status?
Dark: (in a calm and calculating voice but which would send shivers down ones spine) All those who u requested have been marked my lord. They will be yours whenever u command.
S:and what about the news or rather a rumor that reached me?
Dark: (Slow on the reply to this one) that is what my knowledge is limited to as well my lord 'the rumors'.
S:I am growing impatient (and with this there was a trembling far worse than any that had occurred yet) this knowledge is the key u should know better.
Dark: A source has confirmed that its true that one amongst them was chosen and the plan comprised of another 11 to be selected as well.
S:and?
Dark: The one was marked but later the recruitment was stopped for some reason my lord. That is all that i have knowledge of at the moment.
S:Whatever may be their decision or plans ......u know what we have to do this is the one chance when we could seize all control or face total extinction. i would not tolerate any indiscipline this time...
Dark: So my lord should i make our move on that other one?
S:No! not yet! i want the rumor to be absolutely true information before we make that move!! make sure that others are ready and find what there real intention is!!
Dark: I will try my best my lord to find that out. Rest assured we will be fully equipped and ready when the time comes.
S: We better be otherwise........
the situation is graver than it ever was!!!
Dark: Yes my lord!! I am full aware of that!!
S: I even thought about lending them an alliance at one point but if the rumors are true then this is futile!! U play a key role in this ARATHOS make sure we emerge victorious
Dark: Yes my lord !!
and with that the fissure begins to close plunging the dungeon into an absolute darkness.
The quiet of the dungeon now broken by a sound of water droplets falling on the ground from the outside cavern stalacite. Arathos then rose and made his slow progress out of the dungeons and then through the caves into the forest clearing.
The moon shown brighter that day bathing everything into its white light. Looking up at the moon arathos speaks to himself
Arathos: Just a few years before all this turns to utter blackness..
and if the rumours are true then all of them under this shining silver moon are not even aware that they have been ABANDONED!!
and with that and a swirling of cloak in the air arathos disappeared as a light breeze blew into the clearing bringing with it dried leaves.
There was a loud faraway hooting sound of an owl and a dark figure crossed the moon!!
The next part is the first chapter named "The Dream"
