In my opinion it is not very believable. It makes sense, don't get me wrong...But we have never got anything to prove it entirely, which leads me to believe that it wasn't meant to happen. Just as simple at that. Madara had BZ and not his will on Obito. And the time periods of serious and funky Obito was, it just Obito's acting to get all the doubts taken from him. It is very Hamlettian acting if you asked me, and people bought it.
