A World of Light
Once, there was nothing but darkness. Darkness and earth. Humans had to evolve in this smothering darkness, afraid to see the light. It must be so, the earth mother told them.
But not everyone agreed with this, and they invented magic. Magic allowed them to find science, and through it they found light. Finally they found out what life was truly meant to be.
The earth mother wasn’t happy. She sent every monster she had at them, and the humans would vanquish their foe every time. The earth mother had no choice, and ascended from the core to stop humanities progression. When her attempt failed, she sealed herself away and slept.
Hundreds of years have passed.
The humans raised their capitals and got into an age of warfare. Civil warfare. They fought amongst themselves as demons and angels from other dimensions tainted them. The angels, who wanted to manipulate humanity into destroying the demons, and the demons, who wanted to manipulate humans into destroying themselves.
Humanity needed to dig themselves out of the hole, and summoned the earth mother again. She forgave humanity and blocked the monsters. The seals the earth mother placed on these beasts are faltering, however.
