I'm not the best writer, and I have trouble explaining some of these ideas, as they're very layered and complicated in my mind, so it's hard to know where to start.

Setting
My story takes place in a world similar to Naruto's universe. It is a world made up of rivaling villages and clans, a world populated by ninja similar to the Naruto universe.

The world is still recovering from a war between the Tenrai Clan (A clan with a bloodline trait that is considered the most powerful in the world, the Heaven's Ring (still trying to find a name that sounds good in Japanese for this) and the Elemental Union (An alliance of the most powerful clans, each representing an element. Includes: Fire, Wind, Water, Ice, Earth, Sand and Lightning.).

This war began when the Tenrai Clan, a clan that had been excommunicated by the Elemental Union due to the clan's inability to compromise, always wanting to do things their own way, and the clan refusing to give up the Kumori's host (will be explained later) to the Union. The excommunication infuriated the clan's leaders, and they sought to decimate the Union in response to this disrespect. The Tenrai Clan, despite them possessing the Heaven's Ring ability, fell to the power of the Elemental Beasts. The members of the Tenrai Clan were wiped out by the Union, as they were seen as too powerful, and therefore too much of a threat, to be allowed to live. The Tenrai, however, went out with a bang. The Tenrai's leader, Kyūseishu (meaning: Savior) a man who claimed to possess the "Perfect" Heaven's Ring. As the Union began to close in on Kyūseishu, they sent forth the Elemental Beasts to finish him. Kyūseishu, in a last ditch effort, used his "Perfect" Heaven's Ring he unleashed his ultimate technique, killing all of the Elemental Beast's hosts in one fell swoop, leaving nothing but a crater behind. He is assumed dead, as he was on his last legs when he used this technique, and the surrounding area was decimated, leaving him no way to escape.

The child hosting Kumori was never found, and was assumed dead.

After the war, the villages within the Union refused to give up the Elemental Beasts born into their village (never in the Union's history had this many Elemental Beasts been born at once), and once again, wars broke out between the nations, and the Union, along with the peace it had once fought to uphold, crumbled.

Elemental Beasts
The Elemental Beasts are similar to the Tailed Beasts of the Naruto universe, though they are different in many ways. Each Elemental Beast is the embodiment or archetype of their element, and they each manifest themselves as an animal representative of their element.

Wind - A Falcon (name pending)
Fire - A Lion (name pending)
Earth - A Bull (name pending)
Sand - A Scorpion (name pending)
Water - A Turtle (name pending)
Ice - A Wolf (name pending)
Lightning - A Hawk input would be appreciated, I can't think of any animal representative of Lightning (name pending)
Light - An Angelic Knight (name pending)
Dark - A Dragon (Named Kumori pronounced: Koo-more-ee)

Each physically resembles their element as well. For example: The Lion of Fire will be crimson, with molten eyes and a mane of fire, The Bull of Earth will be made of rocks and earth, with small/large trees growing on the top of its body, with horns made of wood.

How did the Elemental Beasts come to be?
The origin of the Elemental Beasts is only a legend, but the story goes that they were a gift from the Gods, monsters that could be used to better the world, or to turn it to ruin. It is rumored among oracles and sages that the beasts will one day be used to prevent a disaster so cataclysmic that this world will cease to exist... Each Elemental Beast has its own strong personality, usually relating to its element (Fire being angry and passionate, Earth being solemn and decisive, etc). They appear in the world inside hosts, similar to the Jinchuuriki, but the hosts are born with the Elemental Beast inside of them. A new host is born when the old host dies, often immediately after their death. The host is random, any Elemental Beast can be born into any person of any village. This has caused countless wars between the villages, as each one desires to have the Elemental Beast whose element corresponds with their village's element. After years of endless wars ,the nations finally came to an agreement. If an Elemental Beast is born into their village, they will give the host (still in its infancy) to the village of the Beast's element, and by doing so, they are guaranteed to have their own Elemental Beast representative of their village's element.

The exceptions to this rule are the Elemental Beasts of Darkness and Light, as there is no Light or Dark Village in the Union. The hosts of these two beasts given to the leaders of the Union to be raised, no exceptions.

Characters
(All names are pending. I'm terrible at coming up with names, so if someone could help, I'd love you long time)

Sin - The main character living in the Village of Roaring Thunder (Lightning in Elemental Union). He was adopted at a young age by Ike and Min, whom he considers to be his mother and father, even though he knows they aren't blood-related.

Sin is a thoughtful, ambitious, gifted boy. He has bright blue eyes, medium length dark brown hair (with streaks of black hair), is slightly-above-average height, and slightly tan skin. He constantly strives to strengthen himself and is determined to find out where he came from, who his parents are, and why he was abandoned as a child. He has vague memories of his birth father, as well as an older brother, but the memories are foggy at best, he doesn't even remember their faces.

Sin isn't aware of it, but (as it is very quickly revealed in the story) he is Kumori's host.

Sin is also unaware that he is in possession of the Heaven's Ring ability (this too is revealed relatively early on in the story).

Sin is a gifted wind-element user, and uses his wind-element techniques to help him be a swift, almost untouchable fighter.

Täku - Sin's best friend, and also Ike and Min's biological child. Täku was born just before Ike and Min adopted Sin, and Täku and Sin consider themselves to be brothers. They are always there for each other, but they are also very competitive, each always trying to prove himself to be stronger than the other.

Täku is also the host of the Lightning Elemental Beast, and is regarded as a powerful prodigy as a result of this. Täku is a fiery boy, quick on his feet and with his wit. Being the Lightning Beast's host, as well as a child of the Village of Roaring Thunder, he is exceptionally skilled with the lightning element, surpassing most of his peers at an early age. He also is a learning swordsman, using his sword in combination with his lightning skills to enhance his reach and flexibility in battle. He can be overconfident at times, but he always manages to back his confidence up with skill.

Täku and Sin have proven to be a deadly combination when they fight as a team, combining their speed and two elements, they become a force to be reckoned with (for their age, that is). For this reason, they were put on the same squad together.

Kira - Kira, a skilled archer and distance fighter, is the third member of Sin and Täku's squad. She is a calm, polite, and affectionate to those she cares about. Kira is the child of a single father (her mother was an archer who was killed during the war soon after giving birth to her). Her father has taught her to be self-sufficient from a young age, teaching her to hunt and survive in the wild. She's a talented huntress, always seeking to take out targets (animals) in the quickest, cleanest way possible. As a result of her hunting, she has become skilled at creating traps, and very knowledgeable of the anatomy of both animals and people, as well as knowledgeable about plants and their various uses.

She uses ninjutsu to give her arrows special properties, and although she is still learning how to use this ninjutsu-enhanced archery in battle, she can make her arrows more powerful, enough so to pierce a brick wall.

Ioto (pronounced: eye - oh - toe) - The leader of Squad 13, the squad that includes Sin, Täku, and Kira, is a seasoned veteran who fought in the war between the Tenrai and Elemental Union. He is a brilliant strategist who excels in maximizing the potential of his soldiers. He served as a strategist in the war at an early age, quickly rising in the ranks to become one of the Union's head strategists, providing him with the skill and experience to be the perfect squad-leader.

Ioto is not only a strategist, however, as he has a reputation of being a powerful combatant. The exact nature of his skills is largely unknown to his squad. All that they know about him is that he has a massive energy capacity (chakra) that he can use to enhance his speed, strength, and agility to superhuman levels for a limited time. On his right hand, the only visible part of his upper body, are various tattoos, many of which are strange symbols whose meaning is unknown to his squad and peers. Ioto claims each one has a special meaning to him, and they aren't just tattoos to him, yet the true nature of this tattoos/symbols remains unknown for the time being.

This concludes the first part of my developing story. Please feel free to post any comments, questions, complaints, criticisms, or compliments, I welcome your input.

The next post I make will be revealing the general plot of my story, as well as [time permitting] a reveal of the main villains (whom I have put much thought into).

This is only the very beginning of this idea I've been thinking on, so keep that in mind.

So, here goes, time to explain the general plot.

How the plot begins is something I'm still undecided on, but as of now, here goes. I'll try not to get too detailed with this general post.

The story starts with Squad 13 having been together almost 2 years, the members of the Squad being ~15 or 16 years old. A new threat makes itself present: the Moon Clan, an organization whose only known goal is to collect/capture all 9 of the Elemental Beasts, doing so in the name of their leader, a mysterious man they call Shingetsu (meaning: New Moon). The Village of Roaring thunder is destroyed almost completely by the Moon Clan, and Squad 13 responds by killing the two Moon Clan members responsible. In this fight, Sin awakens his Heaven's Ring, and with it, hidden strength unlike any he'd experienced. The revealing of Sin's origins (the Tenrai Clan) causes tension in the group, but they stick together and set off to stop the Moon Clan, attempting to ask help from the other villages in order to do so. Squad 13 and the Moon Clan race each other to Elemental Beasts, Squad 13 attempting to turn them into allies, while the Moon Clan seeks to capture the beasts, killing their hosts in the process. As the Moon Clan's numbers begin to dwindle thanks to Squad 13's efforts, their plans are revealed.

The Moon Clan seeks to capture all the Elemental Beasts to fight a force known only as "Alpha and Omega". It is revealed that Alpha and Omega were created by the Gods at the start of the universe to test their creations. At a fixed point in time after the world is created, Alpha and Omega appear to test the strength of the world. If they were unable to be defeated, Omega would use its power to obliterate the world and its inhabitants, while Alpha then created a new world to be tested. The Moon Clan claims that this cycle has been repeating for eons, and that the Elemental Beasts are the only way to stop the world from ending. (This is confirmed when Sin is spoken to by the Gods themselves, who confirm that what the Moon Clan says is true) If the Elemental Beasts are all captured, the Moon Clan can focus their energy into one being, Chōwa (meaning Harmony, Balance). The Moon Clan claims their cause is noble, that their means justify the ends, but Sin and his team disagree, vowing to create Chōwa themselves, without killing innocent hosts or people. Sin and his friends plan to save their world by gathering the remaining Elemental Beasts.

This is the simplest version of the story I can give without getting detailed. Some parts may seem a bit contrived, but the magic is in the details, trust me.

The Moon Clan's Members

Shingetsu - The Moon Clan's mastermind, Shingetsu is extremely intelligent, a master manipulator, and a powerful ninja who doesn't rely on the traditional elements for his strength, instead using techniques based off and strengthened by the Moon itself. Shingetsu is often seen as the invisible hand guiding his pawns around, rarely seen in person, especially by non-Moon Clan members.

Shingetsu formed the Moon Clan at the end of the war between the Tenrai and the Elemental Union, recruiting the strongest ninja he could find under the guise of saving this world from Alpha and Omega. Moon possesses some form of Genjutsu that allows him to more easily convince/manipulate his followers, making him an even more formidable pupet-master.

Shingetsu's origins are unknown... for now.

Mīra-ka - A man wrapped in bandages as well as mystery. Mīra-ka is a powerful ninja from the Village of Sand with a powerful hatred for the Elemental Union and the Tenrai. He was pushed to the breaking point after his time fighting the war. He went insane, killing everybody he saw, including his own clan members, until he was locked away into the Sand Village's deepest, darkest dungeon. Shingetsu broke Mīra-ka out of his prison, promising him that he would bring his power to new heights if he joined the Moon Clan. And he followed through on this promise, as he sealed the Sand Elemental Beast into Mīra-ka upon capturing it, giving him unparalleled Sand-Element power in addition to his own power.

Mīra-ka wears bandage-like scrolls that cover his entire body. He's done this ever since the war, where he served as a medic. One night, his camp was attacked by Tenrai, and he was horribly scarred by a Tenrai ninja who spared him, expecting him to die a slow, painful death alongside the corpses of his friends and allies. Mīra-ka survived by covering his entire body with bandages using Medical techniques. He eventually embraced his bandages, and developed his own original techniques using them. His bandages act as extensions of his body, and he uses them as whips, tentacles, and arms in order to kill his enemies. (A bit hard to describe, if you have questions regarding this, ask me.)

Mīra-ka also became a master Sand-Element user when the Sand Elemental Beast was sealed into him, embracing the Beast and its bloodthirsty nature as his own.

Shisu - A master necromancer and summoner, Shisu hails from a small village that was caught in the crossfire of the war. Shisu was not there as his village was being destroyed, but he came back to its remains only to see the corpses of his family sitting alongside the Tenrai Clan's symbol, inspiring his unbridled hate for all ninja. Shisu's clan specialized in necromancy, and he frequently resurrects the dead to fight for him. Shisu was a rogue wanted for the murders of countless ninja when Shingetsu recruited him, promising him the blood of thousands, as well as revenge on those who killed his clan.

Shisu's appearance is that of a doll who's been patched up time and time again, with parts of his skin being different shades than others, scars all along his body, and what appear to be stitches joining the parts together. This is because Shisu makes use of his saisei (rebirth) technique, which allows him to join body parts he has harvested onto himself, effectively grafting on anything from skin, to fingers, to entire limbs. This makes Shisu very difficult to defeat, as any majorly damaged body part can be instantly replaced with one of the dozens he's collected from his victims.

Shisu has a massive energy capacity, which allows him to mass-summon hundreds of creatures or undead in a single move. His ultimate technique is comprised of 3 parts. In the first part, he summons the skull of a monster, Shūtai. This skull acts as a prison, capturing anything in its path and harvesting their energy for itself. The second part requires all of Shisu's energy, and it is a mass-summoning the "Andeddo no guntai", 100 powerful undead/inhuman warriors to fight for him. The third part starts when Shūtai is ready, at which point he absorbs the Andeddo no guntai. Their power, along with the power of the ninja he absorbed, allow him to transform into his final form, a massive monster who appears to be patched together similarly to Shisu himself. This monster is a result of Shisu attempting to create his own Elemental Monster, one that would be the incarnation of death itself. Yet when Shisu completed his creation, it lacked its own mind, requiring Shisu to control Shūtai from inside. Shūtai is a beast whose power is similar to that of an Elemental Beast, but it is raw, unrefined power that is quick to decay, causing the Shūtai to constantly need the energy of more victims to stay "alive".

Tōshō - A power hungry, bloodthirsty contract-killer with a heart as cold as ice, Tōshō is a perfect fit for the Moon Clan. Tōshō was born in the Ice Village, but soon became a deserter once his serial-killing was discovered. He is one of the most deadly ninja in the world, known for his unmatched Ice-Element skills, which earned him the name Tōshō (meaning: frostbite). Shingetsu recruited Tōshō by offering him to be the host of the Ice Elemental Beast, as well as more money and power than he'd ever had. Tōshō of course, accepted.

Tōshō's skin is pale and bruised, similar to a frostbite victim's skin. This is because of his constant exposure to ice and snow, and it has made him immune to frostbite and other negative effects of his techniques. He is often carrying a large sword filled with water (that he can freeze to extend his blade's reach).

As previously stated, Tōshō is a master Ice-Element user, able to instantly forge blades of snow and ice to kill his enemies leaving nothing but a puddle of water behind. He is able to cover himself in ice to shield himself against enemy attacks, though he seldom has to engage in open combat, instead favoring silently killing his enemies before they know what hit them. He moves silently through snow, and can see through even the thickest blizzards perfectly.

Tangan - An ex-scout of the Fire Village, Tangan was blinded during the war, and was quickly cast aside by his own village, as he was no longer useful to them. To prove his usefulness, he developed his own version of eyesight, utilizing moonlight to help him see better than any other ninja. Tangan is always seen with a headband covering his eyes (similar to Kakashi's but it covers both eyes). This headband acts as a collector of light, funneling it into a concentrated beam of energy that he uses to "see". Tangan has eyesight weaker than that of most people in daylight, but during the night, his eyes are as powerful as Byakugan. Tangan can also collect this concentrated light energy and reverse it, creating a powerful, incredibly precise beam of energy that wipes out anything it touches.

Tangan developed this in order to help his clan, but when he showed them the new power he developed, he was laughed at by his old comrades, called a blind freak, called worthless. He snapped, killing his old comrades with the very techniques they laughed at, fleeing the village immediately afterword. He became a contract killer intent on proving his power to all who question it. Shingetsu used Tangan's desire for approval and vindication to recruit him into the Moon Clan, promising Tangan that the world would finally recognize and fear his power.

Yotei - the vessel of the Fire Elemental Beast, Yotei's power was revered by his home, the Earth Village. He was a loyal member of the Earth Village, and due to his upbringing there, learned to incorporate earth into his fire, allowing him to create and manipulate magma, a power that very few have. Yotei, unlike most hosts, treats his Elemental Beast with respect rather than fear, and in return his Elemental Beast allows him to use its power freely, making Yotei the strongest Fire-Element user in the world, despite his age.

Yotei becomes an ally of Squad 13, as he sees the threat the Moon Clan poses to him. Yotei fights alongside them for a short period, until Shingetsu uses his powerful genjutsu to turn him over to his side. Sin and his squad are unable to break the mind-control Shingetsu has over Yotei, until a certain point... (will be revealed later how he is freed, though I'm sure you smart people can guess..

Siren - nicknamed after her ability to manipulate sound and turn it into a deadly weapon, Siren was part of the Air Village's Special Forces during the war, and continued to serve for years after it as the Air Village's secret weapon. Siren's unmatched control over air pressure allow her to manipulate the air to create powerful sound waves that can be heard from miles away. Siren was recruited by Shingetsu when he came to her and threatened to destroy the village she loved if she refused to join the Moon Clan. Siren was at first a reluctant member of the Moon Clan, but a combination of Stockholm Syndrome and Shingetsu's mind control led her to fall deeply in love with him. She is always by his side unless sent on a mission by him, often acting as his personal bodyguard.

Siren uses her voice as a weapon, able to scream at deafening volumes to incapacitate her enemies. She also uses a custom-made flute as a tool to inflict precise, killer attacks on resilient enemies, as well as a bugle (horn/trumpet) to inflict damage over a wider area using raw power. She also carries a blade that resembles a large, sharp tuning fork ( ) that, when hit against something, can cut through virtually anything due to its resonance frequency.

Also, Siren is a beautiful woman with long, silvery-blonde hair, porcelain skin, and blue eyes. She also has a beautiful voice, especially when she sings. She uses her voice and looks to lure in targets for the kill.

As of now, those are all the members of the Moon Clan. I have some rough sketches of Mira-ka and Shisu that I drew, and I will upload them soon.

Again, any questions, comments, complaints, criticisms, or anything else, please feel free to comment. Your input is HUGELY appreciated.
