A World I Threw Away
Whatever lies beyond the curtain of anguish and pain,
I want to be the one that shoulders it all,
So I can set the stage, and give others a chance to regain,
The smile they never tasted, the strength to never fall,
I only regretted when I should’ve smiled on, I’ll never get the chance again,
To live as I could many years before,
But now I can put the pain behind me and wash it down the drain,
And let others bask in the light of a world I threw away.
