[Suggestion] A weekly contest maybe?

I feel like having all the contests monthly really kinda lessens the involvement.
Maybe there could just be just a couple weekly contests to keep the base alive and fresh and moving.
You know.. not as dead U_U

Like, an Avatar of the Week for example.
Avatars are can be very simple and easy to make. Doesn't take too long at all to make an avatar.
Having an Avatar of the Week would be fun and creative. And like, Signature of the Month, can have categories.

I don't see why we couldn't make this happen.
If you're running low on hosts or mods/admins/whoever are too busy running other things/contests, I'm sure there are actually a couple loyal members or something who could host. (I would/will volunteer if that's the case).

All I'm saying is that I think the forum needs some weekly contests.
Back when some of the contests were weekly, I remember being very excited and thrilled every week to come on here. Now that my favorite contest is monthly, It's hard to wait and wait :/

So maybe an Avatar of the Week?
Or... any other kind of weekly contest that people have in mind.
Just little tiny projects:/
I think it would really help the site U_U

What do you have in mind?

A separate contest for Avatar is not going to be held- you can however enter vertical signatures for signature of the month contest. People keep complaining even for the size of that so I doubt size of avatar 200* 150 is going to make GFxers happy anyway. Though I can give out vertical signature in that size(200*150) as a theme, once in a while if you guys wish.

But keeping all contests monthly isn't really helping with that problem. At least put one or two weekly contests to keep the actual active people interested. There is no harm at all in making one or two weekly contests :/ Awards can be adjusted accordingly..

A avatar contest is already basically sotw which won't have a separate contest. If you want to do pure avatars do it in the premium chat where you can host contests like that.

Smaller contests ask zise or lawliet about something like that. There is already a death note contest that is "smaller". You can ask to do something similar

No volunteers needed any time soon. There is enough of staff for running contests and currently admins have decided that only mods will be holding them. They are changing the format for better management and less of a bugs and related hassle, among other things on their own part, not because of lack of hosts. They also have their other plans to add other new things to contests though it may take some time and will come in phases later( if everything works out properly).

So you basically want to have it just like NB contests always have had it in other words?
There's been monthly and weekly contests on NB since like 2009 (albeit with some of them going on hiatus and the like from time to time but still), so you know, there's a reason to why they are changing up the formula now 7 years later due to the sole fact that it was getting less alive and fresh and moving...

Just my two cents. Let's give this monthly thing a chance before we go back to the same old signature and album of the week contests if it bombs.

Having an Avatar of the Month is better as it allows more people to join and becomes more competitive. Having more time means being able to come up with great ideas and better work. Would be boooring to have the same award-hungry, cyan-loving people winning over and over again with basic, stock-centric avatars that took less than 5 minutes to make.

And like Michael said, weekly contests have been in place for years but activity has been in decline. So just know that bringing them back won't change anything.
