A way to use Reaper Death Seal but still remain alive?

When Hiruzen used Reaper Death Seal on Orochimaru, Edo Hashirama and Edo Tobirama, he gave up his life and two shadow clones life.

Well, if you can do that, why not just make a shadow clone use Reaper Death Seal on a opponent and then the opponent and the clone will be sealed away and you will still be alive.

Would that work?

No, the Shiki Fuujin grasps the soul of the user. A shadow clone doesn't have a soul since it's just a clone.

Hiruzen was able to seal all 3 of them because he moved fast and they were humans.

Minato could probably seal more than 1 person but he had a huge fox as his opponent.

I think it's like a time bomb, honestly. Like... X minutes after you use it, you die.

Nah, shadow clones have the soul of the user, when they are sealed, the user is too.

Also remember Naruto's sage training, when one of the clones turns into a statute, the user does too.

Only way this might work is probably izanagi

Only one person has a chance of usind RDS and surviving. Orochimaru. As long as someone has his curse mark a piece of his soul will still exist within that person. Like when he was sealed with the Totsuka sword. He would need to be revived from the curse mark of course. He can't do that on his own( I think ).

He only reversed the seal. To reverse it requires the death of the user but not the consumption of the users soul.
