i dont think itachi knows madara is out there, correct me if im wrong....but for reals, itachi would be no match anyways to madara. even if its both nagato and itachi. The first is the only beast who can take down madara and i think he is gonna turn up since tobi has created the first without a conscience.... and the conscience part might be hidden deep down yamato's DNA. just speculating but its possible.

Itachi is under a genjutsu to protect konoha, which is to stop edo tensei. He thought that killing Kabuto would stop it, but when he figured out it doesn't he has to try to put him under a genjutsu now.
