A 46-year-old father left a wife and seven children to live his life as a woman. Stefonknee (pronounced ‘Stephanie’) Wolschtt had been married for over 20 years when she realised she was transgender.
Stefonknee, from Canada, also identifies as a six-year-old girl.
Stefonknee has said she "doesn’t want to be an adult right now” and is living with an adoptive family
“I can’t deny I was married. I can’t deny I have children. But I’ve moved forward now and I’ve gone back to being a child,” she said in a video series
She continued to explain that her wife could not accept this change and gave Miss Wolschtt an ultimatum to either “stop being trans or leave.”
“To me, ‘stop being trans’ isn’t something I could do,” she said. “It would be like telling me to stop being 6ft 2 or leave.”
In the same interview she explains how her new parents’ youngest granddaughter wanted a little sister, so Ms Wolschtt decided she would reinvent herself as a six-year-old.
“We have a great time. We colour, we do kid’s stuff,” she says.
Ms Wolschtt says she had suicidal thoughts in the past and has even attempted to take her own life. Since living with her new family she says she has “no suicide thoughts. And I just get to play.”
