A suggestion for a new forum section?

IMO their should be a 1v1 debating section. For people who want to show of their debating skills.
The forum conditions will go as follows:
- Two people decide on a Topic to debate about.
- Their will be 1 - 5 Judges who spectate while the two go at it.

- The victor will be decided by the Judges decision ( if it is obvious that he/she has obviously lost the debate ), or if one resigns.

1. If the opponent admits defeat and have put up a great debate then they will gain a 10 percent discount on how much kumi they were originally intended to loose
   
2. If the opponent is giving false arguments or is loosing the debate by a great margin then they will lose all kumi which they had intended to put on the line with no discount.
   
3. If the user is failing to reply in time provided then he/she will be forced to resign.
   

This is just a rough idea. If it is taken seriously then I would be happy to explain in more detail.

I don't know why this type of thing has been coming up recently, but I believe there are enough sections as it is...

Having an entire section devoted solely to debating seems a bit unnecessary and would be a bit of a pain to maintain in my opinion. The 1-5 judges would have to be completely random and non-staff because the Moderators and Senseis simply do not have enough time to do such a thing. Of course, this would mean that nothing would really hold the 1-5 accountable in regards to their duties and they wouldn't really be governed by any rules. Sure, you can give them rules and guidelines, but since they are general members, there is very little that can be done to ensure they follow through.

I don't want to knock your idea, but it just seems highly unlikely that such a section could be implemented very easily.

Of course, there is nothing stopping you from creating a social group designed for this purpose and hosting your debates in the General Discussion section. You can choose current, serious, topics/issues and make a thread introducing the topic/issue, outline who the participants are and the judge(s), and decide what the rules of the thread are. Since it is to be a serious thread, it will be up to those involved in the debate to report any Global Rule violations that interfere with the thread.

At least then you could see how well the concept is received by the other members and if it takes off, it might give the Staff a good reason to implement an official section. Until you do that, I really don't see this happening (And it has been suggested a few times recently).

And a different section only for debate would just increase the work load to mod and admins. No i totally disagree with our suggestion.there's already a General section where you can create a debate thread using the debate prefix.

We have six sections for Naruto related debates ( five forums and one sub forum) One for general debates and a few more more Bleach, OP, Fairy tales and the list goes on.

What you are suggesting is a contest section for debaters. I don't see why we would need a separate section for it. We may have it along with other contests if the idea can be materialised.
