1. Advantage- If your opponent is standing on water, or if ou trapped them within a water vortex you can dish extra damage
2. Disadvantage- Well this can be time consuming depending on the user speed and if you are fast enough it's not very effective
3. Counter- A Doton user can create a strong barrier

1. If you and your opponent are both standing on water, and you use this jutsu, it will first kill you.
2. No its actually very fast. So it should be the advantage.
3. Earth is weak against lightening. So you need to make atleast a B rank earth wall

1. Advantages- A quick jutsu that can cause small damage however if you're partnering with someone it can be used as a quick distraction, a small weak jutsu used as a surprised to the opponent(s) may create an opening for your partner.
2. Disadvantage- Well like you just said if I'm standing in water it'll kill me first another disadvantage of this is that's its pretty weak, amd against higher ranked Shinobi it's completely useless.
3. A C-rank wind technique should be enough to counter a weaker d-rank lightning technique.
