so according to the latest manga, it seems that madara and naruto had similar way of thinking and personalities as well. Madara knew the pain of losing loved ones but still he believed in hope which is why he always came to that riverside. The similie lies in his desperate attempts to make the stone reach the other side of the river. He believed that by showing the enemies what you really think of them, that they can be allies instead of fighting and causing endless death, quite similar to naruto who always believed in changing a villain's heart before trying to kill him....and madara never gave up which is proved when he was successful after repeated attempts to make the stone reach the other side. the story is getting more and more interesting now......
