The ninja countries are most of the land in the world of Naruto. The rest are normal humans. The countries are larger than england or france because apparently , a ninja can travel extremely fast.
A ninja can travel 10 metres in a second in narutoverse. Highly skilled ninjas or powerful ones can travel even faster-maybe at max 20 metres per second.
Considering that it took 3 days for Naruto to move from konoha to hidden sand, I would say that the time of the journey without resting would be 2 days. An overall of 1 day is spent resting.
Now, I would say that Naruto's speed is between 10 and 20, that is 15 metres per second.
In 1 min, he would travel a distance of 900 metres.
1min-0.9 km
60min(1 hour)-54km
24 hour-1296km
2 days-approximately 2500km
Therefore, there is a distance of 2500 km between fire country and wind country.
So, considering that Juubi dama can nuke a town, the town is probably greater than an island like large towns usually are.
