01: Trusted
A feint smirk twitched onto the mans face, the shadows of the night keeping his handsome features hidden. His back was leaned against an old Oak tree, his arms crossed firmly across his chest. His empty, dark orbs roamed the girl that stood a couple feet away from him. As his clever plan ran through his mind, his smirk was tugged up even more.
“For what could be so important that you call me out here in the middle of the night!?” The lazy girl let out an over exaggerated groan as she slumped forward, rubbing her sleepy eyes. The cold wind nipped at her bare arms and the tree's of the forest surrounded her.
“I have a request.” The man said with the same amount of emotion that's equivalent to none.
“When don't you..” The girl ran her fingers through her tangled nest of blond hair. Yanking the knots out she listened to the request of the man.
“I would like you to enter Konohagakure and gather information. If you accept, I'll inform you about the rest, if you decline... --”
“Inform me.” The girl cut him off, plopping herself down on a nearby fallen tree. She was interested. Clearly, she had planned on accepting his request already. She didn't have anything else to do anyways. Life was boring as a rouge ninja, and she wasn't afraid to admit that.
His smirk was tugged up a tad bit, “firstly, you'll need a fake alias. I could care less about what you decide to call yourself. You will enter the village as if injured, they will take you in with open arms. Whatever you do, don't do anything to make them think you're spying. If you do get caught, simply flee the village as quickly as possible.”
The man paused, giving the woman a chance to ask questions, his purple waist ban loosely blowing with the breeze. With close inspection, his eyes began to roam "his partner in crime". Starting from her feet, his dark orbs trailed up to her head. She was fairly tall for a woman and her curves were almost rounded at the perfect angle. The way her long blond hair rustled about and agitated her seemed to amuse the naturally bland man. She always seemed to have a tangle in her hair and she never knew what she did to get it there. Her bright blue orbs were enough alone to hypnotize anyone who dared to peer into them. She was simply stunning.
“What or who exactly am I gathering information on?”
Her ditsy and weak appearance reeled in many underestimations from her opponents, or even an average villager. Although, when the fights started, her enemy immediately regretted walking into the battle carelessly. Underestimation was this girls advantage in fights.
“A Jinjuriki by the name of Uzumaki Naruto.” The man pushed his relaxed body from the trunk, stepping towards the woman. His eyes were stuck to her like super glue as he started closer.
“Uzumaki... Naruto?” She let the words tumble of her tongue as she tried fishing through her memory. Where had she heard that name before? “Sasuke.. do you know this man?”
It took a couple gusts of wind to blow by before the man spoke up, “that is of no importance. I want you to-”
“It clearly is of importance, or else you wouldn't want me prying into his life and researching his every move for you.” She, once again, cut him off. This time, she rose from the log, standing to meet his height.
“You've got to stop cutting me off, Pree.” Sasuke gritted his teeth lightly, letting a little growl escape.
“We've known each other for awhile now, I wouldn't of expected you to keep a barrier up with me.” Pree shot him a glare, feeling slightly insulted. He hadn't trusted her enough to share the information of his relationship with this Jinjuriki? Tsk. What a wonderful friendship.
Sasuke sighed, clasping his palm to the top of his slim swords sheath. It was his way of thinking. What he did when he was deciding what to do. “He is simply an old subordinate.”
Pree didn't care to hide her small smile. “Good to know we still have that trust.”
“Back to the information,” Sasuke looked unfazed and even slightly annoyed. “you will be spending 2 to 3 months at the Hidden Leaf Village. You'll know it's time to return from your mission as you'll be confronted by a snake. Inside his mouth will contain a scroll with further information on what to do.”
“Easy enough.” Pree let her thoughts announce themselves aloud.
“Good.” With a swift turn, Sasuke began walking away from the closest person he could call a friend. Even if Sasuke didn't see her that way, the trust they shared and the way they put their life's in each others hands, just goes to show how close these two really are.
Before Sasuke disappeared within the trees, he turned his head ever-so-lightly, mumbling words of care to the girl whose gaze fell upon him. “Don't get too close to the people there,”
Pree tilted her head, a bit confused about Sasuke's comment. A large gust of wind slammed against Pree, causing the hairs on her neck to stand up. The world almost seemed to slow down and it succeeded to add tension in the air.
“When you leave, leave your memories behind as well. If you harbor them, they'll only crush you in the end.”
Pree felt a shiver go down her spine, as if Sasuke had actually experienced the advice he told her. Of course, Pree-chan knew of Sasuke's past. How he walked away from the village and became Orochimaru's student. Pree also knew that everyone had feelings, although this was one of the first times she's seen them within Sasuke. It had certainly stumbled her thoughts around.
Before she had the chance to ask why or whatever other questions she had for the man, he had left her presence.
When she felt the extremely familiar feeling of being alone, she stood in the middle of the tree's surrounding her, her eyes shifting from each tree. She took in a deep, steady breath, inhaling the beautiful fumes of the night sky and pollen.
“What am I going to do with this heart of mine,” she gave a light laugh from under her breath, placing her small hand over her chest, feeling as it pumped a little quicker than usual. She may have been blond, but she wasn't oblivious to her feelings of lust for the man. She could feel the desire nearly radiating from her pale skin.
“Perhaps I don't even have a heart to do anything with.” She snickered, swatting away her feelings. Shooting up into the thick branches of the trees, her feet shoved her forward with tremendous speed.
Pree-chan wasn't exactly sure about what she had gotten herself into, and nor did she care. Ever since the beginning she's been shoved down and has never been helped up, and even if their was an extended hand, she would of just swatted it away. Trust didn't come easy for some, and she was lucky to know Sasuke, the one person she trusted but could never have.
Getting lost in her thoughts, she nearly stumbled from the branches. Realizing that her feelings were catching up to her quicker than she wanted, she chose to lock them away. The only thing she should be focusing on right now was her new mission. Her tongue glided along her dry lips, her hair snapping around with the wind. Next stop . . . Konohagakure.
