Hello Guys,
This is my first thread, and I hope it will be discuss fairly. As the title says, I am going to discuss Hashirama's sage mode.
There are two reasons that motivate this investigation: (1) Some people said that it is related to Sakura, and (2) Some even say it completely different from Naruto's.
First, let try to answer the first questions. Is Hashirama's SM related to Sakura's clan?
Well, when Hashirama spam the goody, a sign identical to the one that was hinted to be Sakuara's clan crest was shown on his forefront. Whether this has a relationship with Sakura is not clear, but I can say that it seems that the only Haruno in the manga his Sakura, and she is pretty good in chakra control, evading genjutsu, and very keen as medical ninja. All these seems also to be feats that Hashirama is known to possess. His Mokuton is the evidence of great chakra control. Behind able to fight Madara means he can evade Genjutsu, etc. However, seriously, I don't take these as facts to link the two. If I want to stir things up, I can maybe speculate that Hashirama is half Senju and half Haruno. Please don't attack me for that.
Now, let get to the real thing. Is there any relationship between Hashirama's SM and Naruto's? Why Hashirama spammed it so easily?
For the first question, I think there is a relationship. I think that Hashirama's SM is nothing but the toad's SM. When Jiraya went in SM, his face also changed and some lines appeared on his face. At some point, his entire face even became red. So I think the toad SM appearance can vary from one person to another. The following are some picture of Jiraya in SM. As you can see, only one set of the line belong to Jiraya. All the others are from SM.
Now, why Hashirama spammed easily the sage mode? I think I have a conjecture on this. It might not be because Hashirama as mastered SM. Rather, it seems more like a combination of SM and chakra storage similar to the one Tsunade used to regenerate herself. Think about it.
We know SM is difficult to master. We know that Mito knew how to store chakra in her forefront or somewhere. Now, imagine Hashirama everyday making sage chakra when he has time and storing the ready to use balanced chakra in his forefront. Then, when needed, he can just release the seal and use the chakra for battle. I think this can explain why sign similar to Tsuande's appeared on him.
Well, I even remembered that the sage toad said that Naruto has surpassed his two predecessors. As far as we know, Minato wasn't a Senjutsu user. Thus, there are Jiraya and someone else - probably Hashirama.
