A Reason for Tsunade's State?

Is there a reason why Kishi wanted Tsunade to be in the state she's in now --- split in half?

I'm honestly very skeptical about the whole Slug Sage Mode idea, but why couldn't Kishi have drawn her death in other ways? Why did he have to split her in half in particular? It seems it might really have something to do with being associated with slugs ... is it possible that she might miraculously recover (and die later on again. I'm pretty sure her time is up. It's just a matter of time) from her current state?

She is not using sage mode she is using strength of a hundred men combined with the release of her yin seal.Getting back to your question i think he split her in two because with strength of a hundred men this basically one of the few kind of injuries that can really keep her down.
And to showcase the dire situation that she is in,which is life and death.I am pretty sure she will save the kages at the cost of her life.

Yup I know she's not using sage mode... I'm just wondering if Kishi intentionally put her in her state so he can reveal a more epic healing jutsu (that may or may not be slug sage) later on... I mean, if u think about it, slugs do survive being cut in half, so that's a pretty obvious hint already...

He had to because she can regenerate from about anything. It's obvious he's killing her off. It's either her or all other kage

The reference to her slug like nature to re grow parts of her body is covered by strength of a hundred men technique >>>>>>>>>.which facilitates the regeneration of injuries through accelerated cell division — it however does not require the use of hand seals,(the healing prowess does not get better then that) meaning Tsunade's wounds begin to heal as soon as they are inflicted.What kind of healing do you think is beyond this ?lol this is her ultimate ninjustu.

Actually there might be a reason. The simple slug sage mode assumption.
Slugs are known that when they fight with an opponent that they cannot defeat they split body parts in order to survive.
So Tsunade being split in two actually would be the best time to explain and emphasis her mode.

We've seen that only on extreme situations Jiraya likewise, Orochimaru, brought up their sage mode.
You might say that Orochimaru's Hydra Technique is not sage mode. Well, I pretty much think it is, only that is imperfect like Jiraya's.
Even Kabuto stated so.

Tsunade can survive being split apart just fine like her slug, katsuyu

I think it might be better to ask how in the world she is cut in half in the first place...I mean that tree is gigantic and are we to assume it just squeezed her upper body and popped it off her legs

On topic: Who knows, I honestly don't see her living as her eyes have the dark coloration like she is steps from death as well as the exhausted fatigue marks under her eyes. Whatever tech she uses here to save the Kage will probably kill her. If that technique happens to be a sage mode then so be it (hopefully it is).
