A question from a semi newbie to FT

I have been meaning to start on the manga for FT for a while but I have been busy so I just watch the anime, so my question is this.

Does Natsu go full dragon mode with the scales and enter it when he likes? I ask because he seems to be the main male protaginist but he never gets a power-up to keep it is always eating someone elses flames and then beating the baddie.

I do love the series so far and really want to start on the manga, rep to the people whoo answer

PS: I do think him eating other powers is EPIC like when he ate god slaying flames and Laxus's lightning.

No natsu cannot enter dragon force whenever he likes. trust me natsu doesnt need alot power-ups he gets a few but he has not only the the greatest weapon but the most annoying as well it's his.......

Lol, right reckon he will ever be able to enter it at will? What place does he rank in the strength list? Do the others realise Lucy sucks?

even in the most recent manga Natsu doesn't really get any interesting power ups..

He basically just gets angry and beats up the enemy...
He just gets strong because of his 'bonds with his friends' like naruto

Still at least Naruto got Sennin Modo and KCM and stuff, ah well I still enjoy it so why complain right?

It's a pretty awesome series hey?

Like a few others mentioned, Natsu doesn't go DF on his own he needs some sort of outside power magic to help him get there like Etherion or Jellal's Flame of Rebuke. The only times he needs it is when he fights against very powerful opponents like Brain or Jellal.

His power to protect his family and friends is what makes him powerful and most of the members in Fairy Tail know this.

Lucy actually gets way stronger in the festival battles.

Just to add, Natsu's dragon slayer magic is one of the strongest magics in the FT world, so having multiple power-ups would be overkill.
Lucy is the ”heart” of the strongest team.

I wonder where Ichiya would be ? He has shown that when he is anfry he is very strong. He is meant to be the strongest in Blue Pegasus(apart from guildmaster).Erza is scared of him and was impressed by his skills.

Wait till he goes Lightning Flame Dragon Mode, that one is permanent. It's basically dragonforce for him.
