Taken from the Official page of "democratic socialism"

"Democratic socialists do not want to create an all-powerful government bureaucracy. But we do not want big corporate bureaucracies to control our society either. Rather, we believe that social and economic decisions should be made by those whom they most affect.
Today, corporate executives who answer only to themselves and a few wealthy stockholders make basic economic decisions affecting millions of people. Resources are used to make money for capitalists rather than to meet human needs. We believe that the workers and consumers who are affected by economic institutions should own and control them."

How can they simultaneously say they don't want an all-powerful government bureaucracy, yet at the same time believe the workers and consumers affected by economic institutions should "own and control them".

Are the owners of corporations just going to willingly give up their positions to a group of workers? Or are they going to be forced out by the government? In which case they're ****ing liars.

In any case what makes them deserving of business ownership? What risk did they incur to start the business? What did they invest?

"Democratic Socialism" is no different than regular socialism in practice it seems.

Even if it was, America isn't a democracy, it was never intended to be a democracy... It's a representative republic as long as we have the constitution.

True. America is a republic. What Bernie is trying to accomplish is recreate a democracy that we stand for. However, he happens to be a socialist too.

Anyway, from that article:

Democracy and socialism go hand in hand.

"We"

We voted as people to define marriage as between one man and one woman, yet the government overruled that.

Under "democracy that we stand for" we could vote for anything we wanted. We could vote to hang gays, blacks, etc.

Do you really want that?

You're a bit extreme with it. Anyway, the court protects your constitutional rights.

[BOLD] That's advocating murder which is against the law. That is not in the constitution, but the states are given the power to decide that. :|

This us a hypothetical true democracy. How long before we vote away that law?

I couldn't give the slightest of shits about political, military and/or Government affairs.

Just wish that we were not bound to a specific government or section of our planet. Wish we would wake up one day and understand individuality, the fact that we could share the planet, and not be so dumb for lack of a better expression.

I doubt it. :|

You're basically given freedom to kill anyone. No politician in their right mind would do such a thing - they are to worried about the consequences of their own life, family, and loved ones.

Politicians don't have any power in a true democracy.

The world and the united states as been in support of gay marriage for decades the government didn't go out of its way to CHANGE it all by itself it simply started listening to the people it represented and forwarded their interests. Like it was designed to.

This is absolute bullshit.

32 of the 50 states voted to define marriage as between one man and one woman. The other states just didn't vote.

Hell, even liberal california voted 52% against gay marriage
True democracies fail everytime America is a Constitutional Republic not a true democracy

I said this in the OP

Why would we ever go against human nature? It's human nature to define things based on differences
