So Sasuke is responsible for a decade(s) worth of sub-par writing, plot points, and characterization?

well, shit. Can't say I don't agree with kishi now.

Should have just made Naruto about him originally looking for friends as a Kitsune. Instead of a story about two kids reenacting Kaiju battles.

Rivalry is what drove the story, not the Uchiha nor Sasuke the character himself.

Someone advised Kishi that Naruto should have a rival, thus Sasuke was born. However he could be easily replaced by anyone. Someone like Neji could've taken his place with absolute ease and the story would progress just fine.

The first part of the series was actually good. It's what drew me into the series. However, what some people have to understand is that being a mangaka is hard.

-You have the Editors breathing down your neck. They push you to meet your deadlines on a weekly basis while also rejecting your original ideas, which could be entirely frustrating and tiring

-You only have a week to make the grade and your artwork has to be perfect, which is why many manga creators' content is downgraded.

-You barely get to sleep or have the necessities to have a healthy life. A manga creator only gets around 5 to 6 hours of sleep a day.

-You have your fanbase breathing down you neck

This guy's critical analysis explains why Kishimoto's content was beginning to fall. I mean, Kishi even voiced how he just wanted to be done with the series.
