What did he meant about "Hypothesis Crafted"

Orochimaru apparently does experiments and studies chakra and nature and would probably wonder where it came from
so he probably tried to make assumptions and tests with the information that he does have and with the stories he's heard
to figure out if the sage is the originator and everyone else is his offspring in some way (uchiha senju) he wonders how their eye powers came to be so he made a thesis on how they upgrade and evolve.
