A question about Amaterasu.

Amaterasu burn all that is in the users line of sight. If glass is in the way then the glass gets burned/melted, once that is out of the way what was on the other side is next. So in my opinion no.

Burns matter on contact, and glass is matter.

If you were referring to what I said, I didn't mean he was aiming for the glass, I was saying that even if he was focusing on someone/thing beyond the glass, the glass would have to burn first because it is in the way. If amaterasu was able to be used through transparent matter/or chakra, then it could be used to get Itachi behind his Yata and that would be ridiculous.

hmm good point,i dont think it can,but i dont think we ever seen it not be able to.It appears where ever the caster is looking at and glass is see through so it might be able to go through.

Right, but just because you are focusing on something beyond glass, doesn't meant that is the target. If you focus on something beyond glass, you are still looking at the glass (therefore focusing on it), and it's the nearest thing to you. That means if you focus on something beyond the glass and attempt it, you will burn the glass in the area you were trying to focus on beyond the glass. If not, like I said before, you should be able to Amaterasu through Itachi's Mirror and that makes no sense. All speculation btw, we won't know until it's shown in the manga.

what that brings to question is if amaterasu is spawned at the point of focus or if it travels from the user to the point of focus

i think it spawns at the point of focus but others have said different

You have window. You can either Look at the window or look what's behind it. Amaterasu appears right in front of your target, so if you look at the opponent behind the window, the window wouldn't be in the way.
