lately it seems like more relationships end quicker than they start, or people get married and later in the marriage they get divorced because they end up unhappy.

to keep a relationship alive i think that people should befriend the person that they like and get to know them intimately before getting into a serious relationship. what do you think?

I don't care for relationships much, excluding marriage of course. It bothers me that people need another human at their side... how disgusting :3. Just kidding, haha ^_^ I think it's good to befriend a person and then start a relationship with them.

I think that's a good place to start, but in my experience the strongest relationships are those that start out as relationships. Maybe it's just me being a hopeless romantic, but the strongest relationship I've ever had was because we both liked each other in that way from the start. It just got complicated because of her religion.
The relationships that start as friends can get complicated easily because of the "friend zone" and the fact that if that sort of relationship ends, there goes a really great friendship also.

Well befreinding someone is the best way to start a realationship. If you start strong you will end kind of fast. The best thing to do is to get to know each other and then see from there if it should be serious.

just bcoz we get fed up of each other and misunderstanding lands you in these situations which people need to worry about

That's what the ideal relationship should be.

In reality is that what it is? No.

Why? Well, in my opinion people have things like relationships because of false emotions and assuming. For example, the first time two people are in a committed relationship, they start experiencing different emotions. Those emotions are considered love, is that what love really is? Maybe, maybe not. They grow up believing that's what love feels like and since they have "love" they know they're ready to move on to the next level per say and get married. From there, the people/person realizes that they had the false feeling of "love" and they wish to take it back via divorce.

People rush things, life is the longest thing you do. Take your time with things and make sure you're doing something you really want to do, you only have one chance.

Now, what I'm saying is my personal opinion, if you think I'm wrong so be it. Please don't flame =\

i see it like this way. things will end faster because you start off going hard! then after going hard for so long you start to slow down and then all of a sudden you are the one that changed, she says. after that statement it's garanteed to go downhill.

sadly i agree with you on that one. and it's all because most people don't know how to handle a relationship well. they go by what they heart tells them but what they don't remember is that the heart can be treacherous

To be honest it all depends on the type of person you are. Back in the day people got married without ever meeting the other person and lived a happy life. There are a lot of theories to why more people get a divorce. One of them is just because there are so many people now. One just said that we are simply changing as a society.

It used to be the women relied on the man and could not separate. Economically and socially it was looked down upon. Therefore people had to resolve their differences.

Now people are spoiled and if they don't like something.... Divorce. Although it is usually because one person is being too picky or the other is not listening. They tend to date people they would never be friends with and wonder why there is a problem -_-. Really friendzoning should = date material.

Although I hope to meet someone awesome and stick with them till I put my brain into a machine and run off to conquer the galaxy.
