I just thought about this while reading a fanfic. What would become of the next ino-shika -cho generation if the previous generation of ino-shika-cho either had kids at very different times or if one of them didn't have kids at all? For example, consider this:
Fortunately for them, Inojin, Shikadai and ChoCho are all about the same age (as they are in the same class). However, what if Shikamaru had married and had Shikadai 5 years earlier than he did, and Ino married and had Inojin 7 years later than she did, and Choji decided to embrace the life of a monk and remain celibate? If that were the case, then Shikadai and Inojin would be too far apart in age to be on the same team and Chocho wouldn't have even been born.
Therefore, that would tear the whole ino-shika-cho tradition to shreds.
I just thought I'd point this out. If ino-shika-cho parents have kids at different times, the tradition is screwed.
