after the latest chapter, some notced that the rabbit might have escaped. this theory is based on if it dimension ''hopped'' to save itself and also if hagoromo isnt as blind as we were led to believe by black zetsu. she might be hiding in a castle.

i doubt the sage didnt anticipate his mothers return. he may even have recieved a prophecy from gamabunta about it.
