Chapter 7

Byrans Rival

Narrator: ten mins later they all arrived at the Pokémon center.

Adam: I may go out for some training once I have seen nurse joy.

Aurora: having lunch first might be a better idea I think

Adam: true.

Aurora: here I prepared some sandwiches for all of us

Narrator: they all then had lunch

Byran: thanks for lunch Aurora do you want to do some training together for our next contest.

Adam: well I will go do some training now if there is no objections

Aurora: no Adam no objections here and sure Byran.

Adam: actually I may watch you both for a bit before I do my training then, it may give me some ideas as well.

Byran: why don’t we have a double battle I know we don’t have two people

Ivan: why don’t I join?

Narrator: they all looked in the direction of where the voice was coming from.

Byran: oh it’s you Ivan.

Aurora: you know him?

Byran: yeah he is from my home town, and he was the one who versed me in the battle before the final that was the first time I had defeated him. So you hear for the gym battle as well Ivan?

Ivan: yeah I find doing gym battles and contests help you be a better Pokémon trainer.

Aurora: I guess we can have a proper two on two battle.

Ivan: my friend can be the referee; they are outside I will go let them now.

Narrator: Ivan then headed outside.

Adam: I can Partner up with Ivan.

Byran: you sure Adam.

Adam: yeah I am sure it shall be a good experience.

Aurora: thanks Adam.

Adam: well I will head outside.

Byran: okay Aurora and I will be out shortly.

Narrator: Adam then left the Pokémon centre.

Adam: Ivan.

Ivan: hi there um....

Adam: my name is Adam, who is your friend.

Ivan: nice to meet you Adam and her name is Amelia

Adam: nice to meet you

Amelia: nice to meet you to

Ivan: am I to guess you and me will be partners for this battle.

Adam: you have guessed right.

Ivan: shall we go over some strategy.

Adam: sure.

Ivan: okay shall we bring out all our Pokémon.

Adam: good Idea, shall I go first.

Ivan: Sure.

Adam: come on out everyone, now its your turn Ivan.

Narrator: out came Chimchar & Starly.

Ivan: come join us everyone.

Narrator: out came Combusken,Tailow & Vulpix.

Combusken

is a bipedal, chicken-like Pokémon. Most of Combusken's upper body is yellow, while most of the lower body is orange. An orange, pointed design adorns the center of its waist at the dividing line of the two colors. It has orange eyes, and short, wide beak. There is a feather crest on top of its head with three orange points. This crest is smaller on female Combusken. Its tail is short and pointed. It has three, sharp claws at the ends of its long arms, and scaly, gray legs with well-developed thighs covered in shaggy yellow feathers. Because of the training Combusken does by running through its*grassland*habitat, these legs are capable of delivering a barrage of kicks. While it is fighting, it is noisy and produces sharp cries that distract and intimidate its opponent.

Vulpix

is a small, quadruped, fox-like Pokémon. It has red-brown pelt, brown, pupil-less eyes, large, pointed ears with dark brown insides, and six orange tails with curled tips. The tails grow hot as evolution approaches for this Pokémon. Vulpix also has curled locks of orange fur with bangs on top of its head. At birth, Vulpix has only one white tail, which apparently splits and grows more beautiful and warmer as it grows older. Vulpix has a cream underbelly, and brown feet with lighter brown paw pads.
Vulpix has a flame inside its body that never goes out, and is capable of manipulating fire to such precision as to create floating wisps of flame. When the temperature outside increases, it will expel flames from its mouths to prevent its body from overheating. Vulpix is known to feign injury to escape from opponents too powerful for it to defeat. Vulpix can be found most commonly in*grassy plains.

Amelia: so whats happening

Ivan: a double battle do you mind being the referee.

Amelia: not at all

Ivan: thank you

Amelia: no worries so where are the rest of your friends

Byran: right here.

Aurora: Amelia what a funny coincidense.

Amelia: Aurora its been ages I am so bad I did not reconise Adam.

Aurora: you did move away when we where all five years old.

Byran: shall we begin.

Adam: yes we can catch up more after this battle.

Amelia: lets go then.

Narrator: they then got to the battle area.

Amelia: lets start, shall we flip a coin Brian and Ivan heads or Tails.

Ivan: heads

Byran: tails

Amelia: Tails it is.

Byran: come out Tailow

Aurora: come out Ducklett.

Adam: come out Staravia.

Ivan come out Fletchling

Fletchling

are small, avian Pokémon similar in appearance to robins. They have a reddish-orange head with a triangular yellow mark on the back of each eye. Their body and wings are gray, and there are white tips on the wings. They have long, black tail with a white 'v'-shaped marking near the tip. The tail ends in two points, and has two feathers sticking out at the base, giving the impression of the fletching on the end of an arrow. Their legs, beak, and eyes are black. The legs are thin and spindly, with two toes facing forward and one pointing backward on each foot.
Fletchling are said to be very friendly and are well-known for their beautiful songs. They communicate by using chirps and moving their tail-feathers to signal one another. In spite of their typically peaceful disposition, they are relentless in battle and very territorial, attacking perceived threats mercilessly.

Amelia: lets begin.

Aurora: Ducklette use water gun on staravia

Byran: Tailow lets work with ducklett follow with double team.

Ivan: fletchling use ember on ducklett

Aurora: dodge it Ducklett and use .

Adam: Staravia use wing attack on Tailow.

Byran: dodge it Taillow and use swift.

Ivan: dodge it Fletchling

Narrator: Flectchling did not dodge in time but after Tailows direct hit it started to evole.

Adam: staravia use gust on ducklett

Narrator: about thirty minutes later.

Ivan: Fletchinder wing attack on staravia

Fletchinder

is an avian Pokémon with predominantly orange and black plumage. It has a sharp, black beak and a small, pointed crest atop its head. Its black eyes have yellow, mask-like marks extending from the back. It upperside is reddish-orange and its belly is gray, with a flame pattern marking the boundary on the breast. Its pointed wings are black with yellow tips and undersides. Its legs are also black, with sharp talons with two toes forward and one back. Its long black tailfeathers are marked with two white "v"-shapes. The tail ends in two points and has another feather sticking out of the base on each side, giving the impression of the fletching on the end of an arrow.
Fletchinder has a flame sac in its belly. As its internal fire gradually heats up, it can fly at increasingly faster speeds. Fletchinder is known to hunt by igniting tall grass and swooping down on prey that attempt to escape the blaze.

Aurora: ducklett use bubble beam on Tailow.

Amelia its a tie both Fletchinder and Tailow are unable to battle.

Adam there is stil one pokemon on each side.

Amelia: I am getting hungry I think its time for dinner.

Adam: your right now that you mention it I am getting hungry.

Ivan: good battle Byran same goes for you both Adam and Aurora.

Adam & Aurora: thanks Ivan.

Amelia: lets go and have dinner.

Narrator: they then all went inside

Amelia: hey Aurora lets catch up and cook.

Aurora: sure sounds fun.

Narrator: they both went of to cook dinner together.

Ivan: so what should all we do

Byran: I may make a quick call home.

Adam: Aurora gave me ducklett’s poke ball I am going to see nurse joy.

Ivan: can you take mine to.

Adam no worries.

Byran: I will come with you Adam

Adam: okay Byran.

Byran: Nurse joy can look after these Pokemon til morning

Nurse joy: sure I can do that.

Narrator: about thirty minutes to an hour later they where all eating dinner and they then all thanked Aurora and Amelia for the meal, then they all went up stairs to their rooms to get some sleep.
