Chapter 3. Hopefully you like it
Chapter 3: Why me?!
It took a day or two for me to finally arrive in the land of wind. It was mostly sand, a lot like home, or at least the side of the country I was living on in my other life. I walked up on a ledge and found some ninja talking in the small canyon beneath me. I'm supposed to be good at hiding, I’m a ninja after all. I could clearly hear what they were saying.
“Look we already brought them back from the dead. But we can’t control them, its no longer reanimation, they are alive.” The older of the two ninja said. He wore a hidden sand headband.
The other one didn’t wear any headband, “ Look, Indra is no longer controlled by his hatred. After Sasuke fought Naruto, Naruto stopped Sasuke from being controlled by his hatred, it wore off on Indra too.”
“But how? He was dead and now, we can’t use that. We have no control over him or his brother. And we don’t know where they are.”
I was grabbed from behind, instantly. The man said gripping my arms tight said, “Look what we have here. Hidden leaf ninja.” As I struggled to break free of his grasp my ponytail came undone and my long dark hair was moving all around with my struggling. “I don’t think you should be here little lady.” He pulled out a kunai and placed it under my chin.
I said nothing. All my training and I couldn’t face this guy. Like always I got scared and froze in place. What I found interesting was I was forced to look up, but I could feel the vibrations from in the canyon. The two men where still down there, I'd assume looking up at us. I could feel the vibration of the man behind me, I didn’t get a good look at his face, but I could feel his subtle motions. I could pick up on it from the movements in the air, something I couldn’t explain.
I did the only thing I could think off and tried to sit down, forcing him over the top of my head at the same moment. As he flipped over he had a grip on my hair and didn’t let go of it. Now I was only facing him. “Nice try. You are to easy.” I kicked him hard on my sudden scared state, and it landed where it counts: right in his groin.
He gasped and let go of my hair and dropped the kunai, grabbing at the place I kicked. “I call that move the nut cracker!” Was my lame yet sudden prideful exclaim to the guy. However my just stopping there gave both men from in the canyon an easy target, as I could pick up on the vibrations of them moving off the ground and landing on the ledge, I could easily just see them now, as I couldn’t pick up on the vibrations unless the wind was blowing or they moved enough to move the air at some amount, I couldn’t be sure of. The vibrations I could pick up on had something to do with the wind or air and at distances, not sure how far.
But that didn’t matter as one lunged at me. Of course I was shown this only once and I could give it a try. I gasped. I lowered my head and weaved hand signs I was taught by Hinata. I was slower than she was, but I got it right.
The ground had a pattern on it made of a deep blue pattern, which is not the same color for Hinata, but I’ll go with it, I’m at least doing something hopefully worth while. The yin-yang appeared on the ground as well, in the typical black and white color. I could feel the chakra build throughout my whole body stronger and stronger. I spun in a circle preforming the typical Hyuga clan, “Eight trigrams sixty-four palms.” It made a gust of wind in a circle all around me, and it did send the man that lunged at me flying off the ledge, yay!
But the other one had no mark on him and eased at me slowly then suddenly I was grabbed again. “Look I don’t have time to play games with an armature. I’ll just take you out swiftly, no one will miss you.” He wacked me on the back of my head, I was still conscious but couldn’t move. I fell to the ground.
“What did you do?” I asked, and my mouth was all I could move, go figure.
“You are from the Huyga clan? I hit you in a chakra point that immobilized you. It should be basic to you.” Was his rude undermining comment about my battle skills. “He picked up the kunai that the other man dropped, “You end here.”
I couldn’t see what happened next, it was faster than the vibrations I could pick up on, those were also a blur. The man almost cut me with the kunai and a little blood of mine had shed to the ground, but something had knocked him out and easily, he was no longer there and I think he was knocked into the canyon, I could then pick up the wind that occurred from him hitting a boulder in the canyon, that theory confirmed. Although I couldn’t identify who was who from the vibrations it did give insight to the location and movements of others. I didn’t see at all or pick up on the vibrations of what happened to the man I kicked in the groin but he was gone.
I still couldn’t move. I closed my eyes for a second and suddenly could feel myself being picked up off the ground and into someone's arms. I opened my eyes, “Are you alright?” As I looked at him, I realized who he was. Hard to not notice, his dark brown hair, he appeared slightly different than in the genjutsu, ironically, hotter. His white kimono was covered in dirt, and felt thick, but worn against the part of my back that it was touching as he carried me. He had his hair tied back and he didn’t look down at me in his arms.
He finally looked down at me as he found a good place to stop and put me down on the rock. I was starting to be able to move again, but movements were still slowed down.
“That jutsu is only temporary. You should be able to move at normal speed in a half hour, “ he said blankly. His eyes were filled with darkness. The vibrations that came from him off the slight motion of wind that I could some how feel in my body, were strong, powerful and yet had seeping darkness that filled your soul. The sensation made me shiver and gave me little panic inside. I ignored this, as this entire experience meant I was crazy anyway. Suddenly I am in my favorite anime and manga, and running into…. OH MY GOD!!!!!!
I stood up. My motion was slowed but I could still move efficiently. “What’s going on?” Was all I could blurt out, trying to appear calm.
“You can feel the subtle vibrations, right?” He said making a statement more than asking.
I nodded my head.
He stepped closer to me and grabbed my arm. I didn’t say anything, I stood still. “You can read where anyone is located, by the vibrations made in the air. But there is a limit to your ability. If the air is still, you will read nothing. After watching you from afar, I can calculate how far this ability can reach. You have a twenty-two kilometer radius from your location. You can also read into someone from the slight vibrations that come from them.”
My eyes widened, I was baffled by how he could read into an ability that I only just realized I had.
“I will train you,” He released my arm and watched as I didn’t flinch or turn to face him. It didn’t affect him at all.
“I didn’t ask you to train me,” I thought about it for a second, and finished my statement by asking, “did I?” I wasn’t aware of if I had asked him before this head injury I had in a battle, which I actually didn’t live in this place originally, but I had to still act like I did.
His eyes narrowed. “Look I’m untrainable. I can only use one justu and that’s air palm. I have to go,” I could barely talk to him. My mouth jumbled everything I said to him together. I’m not sure if he could understand what I just tried to say calmly.
“I will train you. I’m not asking you if you want me to train you. I am going to train you,” he said in a plain voice. I averted my gaze from his eyes. I shyly made my eyes remain staring at the ground. “If you are unaware of who I am…. I am Indra. Indra Otsutsuki. “
Indra Otsutsuki.
Indra Otsutsuki is my anime and manga crush. After hearing him state his name in a hot and attractive voice, I was suddenly lightheaded again. My knees were weak. I took a step to the side to adjust my balance.
Indra is a man of natural talent. He succeeded on his own without the help of others, unlike his brother, Ashura. Indra was supposed to be the successor to his father’s teachings, ninshuu, but Ashura was named that instead. Indra’s father is the Sage of the Six Paths and founder of ninshuu, I don’t know much about ninshuu, only that it is meant to connect people to one another and there might have been a religion of some sort involved. After Ashura was named Successor of ninshuu, something happens and black zetsu tempts Indra, leading him into what’s known as the curse of hatred. According to the databook four, Indra is the creator of ninjutsu and he created it to start wars.
What I noticed while I did stare at his face was his eyebrows are short, it looks like he may shave them, but it’s hard to know for sure. It’s a style that suits his face and adds to the attractiveness of his overall appearance. His attractive eyes are dark and uncaring like Sasuke's typical stare, although there is an utter kindness in his glare.
The muscles in his neck and shoulder area are more pronounced and although he wears a shirt under his kimono and it is loose on him, its likely he is as muscular as Madara. My face flushed.
I know nothing of his power or back story. The power of his transmigrants is great, and that’s enough for me to assume his is as well. The idea sends shivers down my spine. All this is some how real. This whole manga and anime. In my other life it was nothing more than an animated series in Japan being English dubbed, and a popular manga in Japan that was being translated into Englísh and other languages. The knowing of this, filled me with a shocked state of mind and body.
This is all real, the hidden leaf village, the characters, the stories. And I have no way of figuring out how I arrived here and how it can possibly exist. And to top it off, I’m standing before a guy who I am used to only being a drawing on a piece of paper that I'd fantasize about. With the fantasies running through my head, a sudden embarrassment and shame filled my soul. Now with him being there for real, it was so awkward, I had to push those fantasies out of my mind, to ease my anxious self. I wasn’t just starting to shake, I was trembling and so much more. He is real. Indra Otsutsuki….
Another moment of a gentle wind blowing his hair making him look even more authentic than he already is. God, I can’t believe this…. He is real. All of this is real. There is just no way….. He remained quiet for a moment and never stopped staring at me with a plain gaze.
“Look, I can’t wait here-“ I made a feeble attempt at sounding calm, like this was an everyday situation that I was used to, at the same time as trying to get away. “I have a scroll, that I have to deliver to-“ I grabbed it out of my pouch on my back and turned to walk away, it was strange to find my legs not going as quickly as I commanded them to go, or rather how they used to go faster, as I am still adjusting to this ninja body and life of mine.
I wasn’t sure if I should tell him who the scroll is meant for, but I figured it was best I didn’t. He moved in front of me, he moved as a blur and the vibration of his movement only came moments later. He was fast, fast enough of defy this jutsu I have no idea how to use.
Narrowing his eyes at me, he grabbed my arm and then the scroll. “Hey! What are you doing?! “ I squealed.
Releasing my arm again, he opened the scroll. His face remained expressionless. He then rolled up the scroll.
“What are you doing? That’s not meant for you. I have to get it to-“
“Madara.” Indra finished my sentence. I was puzzled by his actions. For some reason I stopped just to stare at Indra. This was unlike me, especially with a guy I like because I get so shy.
I started to notice some things about Indra. He clearly trains is his kimono and wears it a lot, it looked like he owned it for a long time. I wanted to know so much about Indra, that I was noticing all the little details of him, down to his outfit. We never got an in-depth story of Indra and Ashura, and I was always curious to know things about him and his past, his jutsus, all the little and big things I could find out. By ‘we' I mean myself and other fans of the manga that we call ‘Naruto', which is now just the name of a knuckleheaded ninja in the hidden leaf village, and no longer a name of a manga and anime that is popular around the world, just like in my other life, the place I called home.
Still confused, I assumed he knew who the scroll was meant for because he is working with Madara, “Are you going to give it to Madara for me?” I blushed and gave a more shy and subtle voice unwillingly as I said Madara’s name.
“No. I won’t,” He said. “I’ll take this. And I’ll be taking you.” He grabbed me and placed me over his shoulder. I was confused…. Why was he acting like this…. He's…. Still curse of hatred. But that man stated that Indra wasn’t. I wouldn’t struggle, and Indra knew I wouldn’t struggle or make an attempt to get away, now.
“Um…..Indra where are… or why are you taking me?” It was bizarre to be carried by an anime crush, and then to find out he is still ruled by his hatred…. And how could I be a part of his plan or whatever?
“You have a power that is of use to me.” As I said nothing, he finished by saying, “I sent the message to your hokage, not Madara. I copied his hand writing using my sharingan. I knew the hokage would have no choice but to send his last resort, you.” My face was red as he walked because I would find myself staring at his butt, making it hard to listen to what he was saying. I turned my head to the side to avoid an overly red face.
Indra continued, “Those men only thought they reanimated my brother and myself, but actually I was already alive. And my brother was only an illusion. I made my escape, and left a path that lead them to this canyon, where they would find you.”
I turned my head to stare at Indra’s butt again. “Hitomi,” I lifted my head at the sound of my nickname, “don’t stare at my butt.”
I was mortified. First off, how could he know? With my body resting over his shoulder, my head's natural position is facing his…. My face turned deeper red….butt. “um…. I was just….um…t…trying to…relax my head,” I said with a smile I couldn’t help but make.
“Then leave my butt out of it,” Indra remained calm, and continued to walk at a steady pace.
“And what did you need me for again?” I said, curiously. I have no skill, could barely do any type jutsu and…. Was I going to be a sacrifice to reanimate someone? I got so scared I started to shake even more than my shake from fright of being around a crush of mine. I don’t want to die! I could never imagine a time that I would have wanted to die! There’s so much I'd miss out on.
He half smiled, I could notice from the position my head was in as I avoided looking at his butt. I tried to stare to the side at the rocks and sand going by as Indra continued to walk holding me over his shoulder. “You have a power that is of use to me.”
“What is this power?”
“Mostly you’re ability to sense vibrations from the air.” I turned my head to relax and remembered Indra doesn’t want me staring at his butt, so I turned my head to the other side. The sun was setting and the sky was turning a red color. Only a couple stars would peek out throughout the hazy sky.
Some grass and moss was around this area mixed with some sand, making it a combination of desert and grassy land terrain. Indra took us into what I would assume is some sort of cave. It seemed like a typical movie or story, it always ends up in a cave. It was dark, inside the cave and outside. I like that, but not for the reasons of romance, but because to some degree I am afraid of the light and prefer the darkness.
My crush on him isn’t exactly anything I ever imagined I would have to deal with. He wasn’t real where I came from. Only existing in an anime and a manga, and barely. He never had even spoken in the manga or anime. Both the anime and the manga only really show us just pictures of him and his brother. The fight between the two isn’t shown, just a picture of it, in both the manga and in the anime. It was one of the big disappointments I had with the Naruto series.
Nothing is known of Indra, making my ‘ace up my sleeve' of knowing about these characters, and their chakra, jutsus, and power or personalities and backgrounds, exempt in Indra’s case.
“I’m going to guess you’re still curse of hatred,” I blurted that out on accident, it was something I’d do if extremely nervous, which is typical of me with a crush or in court. I winced after saying it, I really didn’t want to say it.
Indra placed me down. The thing was he knew I wouldn’t try to escape him. I couldn’t, I would never make it. So I sat down on a small rock.
Indra finally gave into my unintended question, “Curse of hatred? “ He turned and looked out the opening into the land beyond the cave. I wasn’t sure what he was looking at. “I have no plans for this world. I created ninjutsu a long time ago. It was intended to start wars.”
He then slowly turned to face me, “Now, I’m looking into another dimension. Hitomi, I’m looking into your world. Your home.” The sudden smile that he made, showed his darkness.
………..
It was strange, I still wanted to cuddle with Indra, despite the fact of his curse of hatred still stirring inside him. Indra doesn’t talk much. As he’d sit there, just constantly staring like he was deep thought, I would wonder about his plans for my world. What would he achieve? Peace through force? Why bother in my world?
My eyes suddenly looked down slightly in Indra’s direction….
“Hitomi, don’t stare at my butt,” he never turned his head to look towards the girl sitting on the rock behind him.
I sighed, “Um…. It's nice.”
“If you think making comments about my butt will change anything…. “
“Not your…. Your butt,” I said that barely and with a very quiet tone. I kept talking, trying to make my voice calm and relaxed, “The night. It's soothing.”
No reply. At least he realizes I think of more than his backside.
