I just realized something.

In the Kisame vs Gai fight, when Gai's Afternoon Tiger went through Kisame's Great Shark Bullet, wouldn't Gai still be hit since it didn't stop it but just passed through it?

It even shows it in the panel that it just goes through it and not cancel it out....so how did Gai not get hit along with Kisame?

Haha good point. Maybe the force of the technique dispersed it perhaps?

I suspect that when Guy caused Hirudora to explode that it completely blew away all water in the surrounding area, including the shark missle jutsu.

The massive shockwave must have blown the Shark Missile away.

I would assume the explosion would happen after Kisame gothit, meaning the Great Shark Bullet should have hit Gai at that time as well.

...or if the explosion was really that big to disperse the jutsu from that distance, then wouldn't Gai have been hit by his own attack?
