Think about it this way... One third of the world just died probably. Given that an entire division was wiped out by Madara and that the tree slaughtered thousands... it stands to reason people are going to take exception with the TB.
Mankind just saw first-hand what the TB can do when they're gathered. Plus, a lot of people won't want to leave the mugen tsukuyomi to return to such a bleak reality. The ninja world will blame the TB for what happened, and agree with Sasuke's idea that they must be destroyed.
Ultimately only Naruto and maybe Hashirama believed that the TB were anything more than monsters. I'm not sure Naruto really would even be selected to be Hokage, either. He may be strong and trusted, but I think a lot of Konoha would decide for Kakashi to be Hokage.
