Itachi knew that Shisui faked his own death, it is in one of the latest mangas. He also had his MS before he killed the Uchiha... How did Shisui get his MS? The eye that was planted into the crow seemed to be a MS... Seems like Shisui and Itachi figured out a way to get MS without killing someone, Was Shisui's genjutsu that powerful?

Fix - sozzles, the anime says shisui faked his own death and the manga says he erased his own existence...

Nope, you're wrong, I thought this was obvious people, it was when he killed Shisui. Don't you remember, when the police came to Itachi's house, and suspected him of killing Shisui, then Itachi beat them up, his dad came and told him to go in the house, and when Itachi looked at him, his eyes swirled into the mangekyo sharingan..

That was when he threw that shuriken into the uchiha clan symbol.
