the sun was rising just over the horizon as Mikuru Shikama threw another kunai knife angrily. She was just about to throw another when she heard faint footsteps. She whirled around and threw the knife so it would land next to where the sound came. There was a screech and a yellow blur jumped into the bush. Mikuru couldnt help it. She laughed. A boy with dark green eyes and shaggy blonde hair down to his eyes popped his head out. "You tried to kill me." he complained. She laughed and said "Please, if i wanted to kill you youd be dead." "Oh yeah?" he protested. Without thinking she threw another his way. He screamed and ducked. The knife landed right where his head was. The boy turned and got a good look at the girl. She had long dark red hair and dark almost black brown eyes. She was what his mother called "an early devolper" so she had these two things on her chest. She wore a white t shirt and dark blue skirt. Suddenly he realized. "Your that orphan girl< Mikuru right?" "So what if i am?"She snapped. "Whats your name then?" She asked. The boy stepped out of the bush and walked his way to her. "Kunay." She raised her eye brow at him. "Are you joining the academy tomorrow?" She asked. He nodded. "How can you get in. Your an orphan." "it wasnt my idea. It was lord Kazekages. He said if im gonna live off village money i should learn to protect it. So he gave me these and told me to throw them at trees and report to the academy tomorrow." The boys eyes opened wide. "Youve spoken to the Lord Kazekage?" "Uh, Yeah. he comes by once a month. drops off food money, Asks how im doing, stuff like that." Mikuru Turned her head sharply. "Someones calling you. And their headed here. You better go. People usually get scolded for staying around me for too long." "But.." But before he could finish she had run off. Kuny shook his head and called back to his mother. Following the sound of her voice.
No matter what he did for the rest of the day he couldnt shake that strange feeling that Mikuru Shikama gave him.
