Anyone following the series? It's quite enjoyable so far, though the unexpected horse-sized schlong was a kind reminder that this still is set in the GoT franchise.

I do love an underdog story. It is a lot better then I initially believed that was going to be. It is a slow burn story. At least at the beginning.
Apparently they are planning to make 3 series. I am curious to see more from that period(Targaryen period)

It's based on the Tales of Dunk and Egg series, which are three mostly self-contained relatively short stories that focus each time on a specific plot in a specific location. So, it's pretty much the exact opposite of GoT, but I don't mind. I've read the Tales and I loved it.

I read the books and they've been (mostly) loyal to the source material.

Two more episodes to go. There are only 6 episodes and they only last half an hour, but honestly that makes it work.

Yeah...It is very good show considering the budget, HBO allocated to produce it. I am glad that HBO has allowed George R R Martin involvement. Not like with the House of the Dragon.
I head that HBO are planning on making 3 series of AKOTSK. And George R R Martin is planning on writing an other novella about Dunk and Egg, before finishing The Winds of Winter...I have mix feeling about that...I am just hoping him to finish writing everything he has in mind about this universe.

Well, there are only three canonical Dunk & Egg stories. And GRRM has been saying for years he would like to write some additional stories, but I'm honestly convinced he's going to kick the bucket before finishing anything.

Very gritty and subversive, but in line with the books. You expect some heroic turn around, but nope, just a bunch of brawlers wrestling in the mud.

Though a bit sad that there was no focus on how the others were fighting as it only focuses on Duncan, but that too is in line with the books.

Yes, I did expect some heroic turn around, but yeah, I should not have, because Duncan is a green knight. But yeah, the anxiety vibe that was created, it was just perfect if I am being honest.
I was thinking about that, immediately after Baelor passed, but reflecting on the flashes that Duncan had, and at the end was told to get up...it made more sense to fill the episode with Duncan's flashes then with the other knights fighting...Would have been interesting to see more of the fight, but for the sake of traditional HBO penultimate WTF episode ...it made sense
