A Kenpachi theory.

I saw a thread earlier pointing out that it doesn't seem that Yachiru has aged over the years and it reminded me of something I though of a while ago.

Stark the number one espada and Lilinette were actually one soul split into two souls to make it possible for them to live around someone without killing them right? Well my theory is that Kenpachi was the soul reaper version of that.

He might of split his soul into two (well his zanpuktos true form) into something else without knowning he did it. This might be why he hasn't heard his sword talk to him in ages, maybe he has been talking to his sword the whole time in Yachiru.


Anyway, just thought I would share my random ass theory, kinda stoned. Feel free to prove me wrong!​

hmmm would be cool if yachiru was secretly zaraki's zanpakuto but i doubt it somehow ... i think to many people are looking into this to much its a manga not everything in it has to make perfect sence

Oh, I know not everything has to make perfect sense, the writers are only human after all but still.

I think this theories awesome but yeah, the only question would be, did Kubo really plan that far ahead for Kenpachi to have the same thing as Starrk?

It would be awesome to see him fuse with her and awaken his true power, imagine a Zaraki bankai.

I've heard this theory before, and it's somewhat interesting, but I doubt it. At this point, the concept would seem a bit trite since Starrk was already seen having that ability.

Also, Yachiru hasn't been shown to age because Kenpachi is a relatively new captain. Probably in the past 50 years.

Fair point, but still one can hope Zaraki somehow can get his bankai and kick Ichigos ass.

Can't see it the reason why zaraki can't hear his zanpakouto was explained when he first battled ichigo. Remember ichigo said he could hear zaraki's zanpakouto screaming. It was because of his reiatsu.

Yachiru on the other hand likely has a Shikai because she is always giddy and seems like she has an invisible friend she communicates with. Which could be her zanpakouto's spirit. And yeah she has captain level reiatsu would not surprise me if she had a bankai as well she may very well be one of the five war potentials juha referred to.

Cool theory but I doubt it due to reasons others already mentioned.

In this context I have 2 questions:

1. How did Yachiru or do shinigami generally become a lieutenant? Do they have exams? Did Kenpachi just assign her?

2. If I remember right in the first arc there was a scene when Yachiru suddenly switched places and she glowed a little.
That is in my memory the only situation when something of her powers were shown.
Does anybody remember this, too?

Have any of you noticed that whenever Kenpachi gets into a major fight that Yachiru is no where to be seen? Except 1 fight maybe during the Soul society arc.

Also this theory sounds actually plausible. Tite Kubo has a genius mind when making this story. He leaves nice easter eggs / spoilers and twisted cliff hangers, though not everyone is original, it just comes unexpected. I think he is purposefully making us back track to figure out the history of characters and how they will further be part of the history of the series.

1. Kenpachi's sword has no name because he cant hear it, he relies on his own power too much, hense why his sword is dull and jagged. only his brute strength allows it to cut.

2. Yachiru just happens to come out of no where, with no name. Coincidence? Maybe.

3. She is the exact opposite of Kenpachi. Giddy, happy, playful vs Uncaring, angry, brute. Which brings a complete balance to their duo. - may Kubo all along wanted to keep everything balanced from the start and not have 1 particular person way over powered?

4. She has captain level strength, though she is a Lieutenant and his almost always within range of Kenpachi. She only disappears during major fights that could possibly harm Kenpachi.

5. Anyone remember when she got angry at one guy in the anime? She had a Pink reiatsu skull manifest to show her strength and power. It was similar to Kenpachi's reiatsu skull formation. then again when they take on animations like that they all start to look the same. Except, Ichigo's of course lol, his always takes the form of his hollow mask.
