There has been conversations about the development of artificial intelligence and what it could bring.

I did find it interesting, that even though it's in a lot of movies.. It could be a possibility.

Let me start off by explaining the technological singularity.

"The technological singularity is the hypothetical future emergence of greater-than-human superintelligence through technological means.[1] Since the capabilities of such intelligence would be difficult for an unaided human mind to comprehend, the occurrence of a technological singularity is seen as an intellectual event horizon, beyond which events cannot be predicted or understood."

Now, it might seem silly to think of terminators or whatever, but I doubt we are TOO terribly far off. I wouldn't say anything like 2020 or close, but it seems inevitable doesn't it?

Computer powers grows by 2x a year or something along those lines. Gigabytes now will seem like nothing in a few years and we will have terrabyte memory and even higher hard-drive. Soon enough we will theoretically have enough computing power to map the human brain

That's when everything changes I believe. And if we get to the point where robots don't need interaction with us and can create their own versions, or better versions of themselves, that is what might set it down that road.

What is scary is. Human's don't like not having power. All it would take(however much later down the road in A.I.) is some act that they deem questionable, or threatening.

There are arguments against it of course. Such as how would we even allow them to get so high in numbers, or be a risk. Well.. thats the debate.

They don't need a lot of AI, but only one AI which has attained Technical Singularity.

I think before that day, humans will merge themselves with robots. Hence, humans will not lose superior power to AI, but infact they will share it with 'It'/'Them'.

Would be pretty cool, but at the same time I would be unsure if i wanted to do that. In fear I wouldn't be "myself" anymore but a completely different entity. (and thanks for being the only response in like 12 hours. Really guys? must be because my headline doesn't say something controversial like racism or whatever)
