Well, i want to express my disapointment in kishi having pestered us with naruto chasing sasuke, i understand it´s his friend, he wants to save him from his hatred and whatnot but it gets out of line, naruto is an individual who wants to become hokage, yes he should worry about his friend but he shouldn´t become obsessed about him like he has, kishi don´t understand that he doesn´t need to have naruto giving up on everything about himself to save sasuke and annoying us with "SASUKEEEE!!!"

Naruto would be better off doing his own thing, being with the friends that IS there for him and have sasuke as a 3rd option, i don´t know why naruto even tries to save sasuke, he hated him before cuz he was always better then him, i understand that he´s matured in the rivalry/friend aspect but he becomes more immature, stupid and depressed the more he thinks about him.

Why didn´t jiraiya or kakashi give him a few slaps to make him understand that it´s not the end of the world cuz seriously, i don´t recognize the main character of the story called naruto that i´m reading each week, i don´t know who this guy is anymore.

He´s 16 and should be reasonable enough to make his friends and village his number 1 priority, his goal 2nd and sasuke 3rd but nooo!!!

He ignores the bonds that he has with like kiba, neji, lee, ino, chouji and SHIKAMARU, did you guys see them at the 3rd shippuden movie? Did you see how epic it was having them as FRIENDS?? Something kishi only applies for sasuke when it comes to naruto, how come the other guys never interact with each other and have their own thing going, kishi just seems too lazy for that.

Those bonds with his classmates could be stronger then the one he had with sasuke, he could make great friends that would and ARE helping him through thick and thin but he´s so blind and stupid, he only wants sasuke.

I don´t know why but kishi really seem to have rubbed that in, that sasuke is the only friend naruto think he has.

Let naruto be his own character, let him have back that hokage dream/passion, let him see that he doesn´t need to save sasuke and that he´s more then capable of saving his village, why don´t he realize that sasuke don´t need nor wants to be saved???

We understand the whole naruto/sasuke relationship kishi now move on, move on and make your main character into a man, the naruto we know is dumb yes, he´s stupid yes, but he would never make excuses for his goals, he would never put his dream on the line for something else that needs to be done, he would never overlook his other friends, he would be smart enough to know what´s important and what´s not, the naruto we know always sees through deception, the naruto we know wouldn´t do a rasengan when he just learned that it wasn´t going to work, he wouldn´t give up but he would do it in another way and he wouldn´t forget something so obvious.

Kishi, stop changing naruto, you´re not developing him, you´re changing him and they´re 2 different things.

Please don´t ruin such a perfectly good series with still alot of potential with your annoying-ass characters crying, stading on the side-lines lookin pretty, being all dramatic, corny and chessy, depending on others, thinking they´ve changed only to realized they´re just as useless, being naive and stubborn as hell.

Don´t toss your characters, naruto can be the main character, he can be more powerful but that doesn´t mean you should toss the others aside just cuz they´re not as powerful, develop them in their own way, sometimes, let naruto weaknesses be their strenghts, this is no new generation taking over, it´s ****in naruto takes over the world and no one but sasuke means jack squat!

I had enough, i said what i wanted to say, yes, this was a half-hearted rant cuz i feel the series is so good yet so bad, he got the story down no doubt, just check your future notes and put some addtional stuff in there, why the rush to finish the series? Take your time to let everything happen in the way it needs to happen, don´t rush, don´t rush, DON´T ****IN RUSH!!!..............................................Why the rush? Just saying.

I'll be honest, I didn't read your whole post. In fact, I only read the first two paragraphs, or so. But I'll answer what I can now:

First off, I think it really shows you who Naruto is as a character. Friends mean a lot to him, and he sees Sasuke as a good friend, so he'll do anything to save him. He's not the kind of douchebag who just goes "Ah screw it, I never liked you much anyway". No. He's doing everything he can to get his friend back.

Also, I don't think Naruto really ever hated Sasuke. Sure, he may have been hella jealous of him, but hate him? Nah.

and if you remember buddy, naruto has a ninja way: never goes back on his word(reference to his promise to sakura) and one that links ; always there for his teammates/friends. if naruto was to just drop his ninja way, it would be the same as having no moral code and personal features. its what defines naruto to go and save his friend, he didnt just make a promise to sakura, it was to himself, he believes its for his own morality. at the end of this story you will realise that "saving his best friend" is a metaphor for things in real life as well; ie- helping a drug addict who is off the rails, young corrupt teens and criminals struggling to find themselves in life: what example will kishimoto be setting if he just makes naruto come out and say "whatever hes bad, f*ck him".

and also naruto and sasuke had the same desperate and all alone childhood. Naruto said he understands sasuke's pain and thinks of him as a brother. That's why no one else can be closer to him ever than sasuke, cause they understand each other's pain. though i personally think it has been enough, naruto should just kill him if he refuses to come back and get it over with.

hmm, to be honest, naruto and sasuke is the show and not really naruto becoming hokage. naruto said ''how can i become hokage if I can't save one friend' - he's on a path to bring sasu back

I think the thing about sasuke helped developed naruto, as said at the beginning he needed to find things to protect to get stronger. And thats basically whats happened, although i do agree with you and think that its enough. He should forget about sasuke, it is rather annoying.

That´s what messes the story, see how he went back on his word? So it means that he doesn´t want to become the hokage if he doesn´t save sasuke.

I have nothing against naruto wanting to save a friend but don´t let that be his top priority, don´t push it up our faces, kishi rubbed that in and we get it, he wants to save his friend and he´s gonna save him but he looks pathetic when he becomes overly attached.
Real world example my ass, no one would give up on everything to save someone who don´t need to be saved and don´t want to be saved, what is he freaking jesus?!

I like what yo have to say... But I'll have to disagree with you... Naruto understands the suffering of everyone... He cares about ALL his friends... That's why he's going all out to protect everyone in this war... everyone is precious to him... even people he doesn't know from other villages...

As for Sasuke... Naruto sees him as a brother not just a friend... they had their differences... but the loneliness they shared was the very first bond Naruto made with anyone... He didn't hate Sasuke.. he admired him and wanted to be like him... in a sense he was Naruto's motivation.

He's a precious person to Naruto... Naruto feels that if he can't save one of the most precious people to him... he's not worth being Hokage... Naruto's dream is still the same... but something changed along the way...

Personally tho'... I think Naruto and Shikamaru's friendship is his second strongest after Sasuke... and he DOES need to show a more accurate appreciation of people like Shikamaru... But I think Itachi's words got throgh to him... he finally praised and acknowledged Hinata shortly after... so I think what you say is spot on... He was so concerned with looking after people he missed the bonds they had formed with him and focused primarily on Sasuke...

Good thread! :D

I disagree with the latter part of that statement? Why? I have someone I would do anything to save... and yes I'd pt certain things on hold until then.... No I'm not Jesus... I just have someone that important to me... Most people do... I'm sure you do if you were to think really hard or to be put into that situation! :p

I understand he wants to save sasuke but kishi is making it his top priority, i don´t think he should´ve put so much focus on rescuing sasuke, he doesn´t look at the friends he has but 1 friend that he had and sees as a brother but it doesn´t excuse all the depressed moments he has whenever sasuke comes up in a conversation, he even fainted from thinking about sasuke so much, that is pathetic.

The village hero who beat pain and had hinata confess to him fainted over people telling him to man up and kill sasuke cuz he´s a criminal and he´s gotten out of line, HE FAINTED, HE COULDN´T HANDLE IT!

How can he be precious to him when they were only friends for a short time?

Gaara shared his pain as a jinchuriki and is more like him then sasuke is yet he´s having an attitude against him, he haven´t told sasuke to either stop what he´s doing or that he´s in for an ass-whopping, he never had that mentality about sasuke after he left the village, it´s all "you´re my friend and i´m gonna take you back, SASUKEEE!!", it´s all talk and nothing happens.

I could go on and on but i think you´ve gotten the point as i have with kishi´s point about naruto wanting to save a friend but he thinks no one has understood yet.

Yeah I totally get your point... I don't think that Naruto fainted purely over Sasuke... Alot happened in a short space of time... He lost his village... he lost his teacher/father figure (Jiraiya) Sakura confessed to him... he found out Konoha had iven the order to kill Sasuke... Garaa had a heart to heart with him about Sasuke... I think everything piled up for him.

He does recognise Garaa alot... in the Save Garaa Arc.. he was distraught.. he cried... started going kyubii (I think Kakashi restrained him no?)...

But I do see what you mean... Personally I think it would be easier to do something for Sasuke if Naruto became hokage first... he'd have more power and influence that way...

Personally I'm more interested in him becoming Hokage than saving Sasuke at this point.... Bt I do enjoy this part of his journey!

Here is the thing, there is no reason for sasuke to have the kind of emotional effect he has on naruto, he shouldn´t be that important.

Let´s see what naruto feels about sasuke, he sees him as a brother, why?
Because he was alone as him but sasuke was good at everything he did and was adored by everyone while with naruto it was the opposite, naruto wanted to have attention, sasuke got attention, sasuke was what naruto wanted to be.

That was back in the academy days, u kidding me? When they became team 7, they were both equals and good in their own way and naruto wanted to beat sasuke while sasuke started to realize it and wasn´t going to let naruto beat him, yeah, they were bros.

Then sasuke got hospitalized while naruto got stronger, sasuke got jealous, sasuke got jealous and wanted to test things for real this time.

Long story short, any person would think like this "ok, sasuke, you made your choice, i will make mine cuz i realize what´s important"

Then it´s training, getting back, being with my other classmates.
I wouldn´t be so desperate, danzo said to kill sasuke, yes, he´s a criminal, a missing nin, i know under normal circumstances that a missing nin gets hunted down and killed so it´s only fair, i would go search for sasuke myself and see what happens which is what he did, only i wouldn´t go against my friends telling me that sasuke´s trouble would cause a war between fire and thunder countries.
