Most back stories which are dark and sad are considered good back stories. So she definitely has this. Losing two people she cared for deeply to a war. Which leads her into a depression where she quits being a ninja, her medical practice and develops a fear of blood. She eventually moves on from all of this.
Most people dont like that Kishi involves romance in all his female characters but this character definitely isnt involved in any romance. She was but no longer is and hasnt been. She is not tied down to any male character.
She is definitely strong. She is known around the world for being a ninja(sannin) and for her medical skils. She was the most damaged and yet the only one conscious after the Madara attack, cut in half might I add and STILL went to help the 4 other gokage before putting herself back together.
Strong minded. She makes her own decisions and doesnt let the elders tell her what to do. She also didnt follow the SA's decision as she went against A the supreme leader of SA on whether or not to let Naruto through.
And since this adds a lot to her liking for some people she has giant boobs.
And even with all that people still dont like her and still say she isnt a good female character. So it only comes down to one thing, some people just dont like any female characters no matter if they are good or bad. Just saying.
Maybe you are sexist, maybe you arent but some of you just dont like female characters. I dont know why and its not wrong maybe you were just raised that way and cant help it but dont say there arent any good ones out there in Naruto, because there are. This female as an example.
