A few things regarding Madara.

(1) Madara was always destined to be the final villain. That much was set up by the backstory and how he set everything in motion. In the end, this was all his plan.

(2) Madara will be a greater threat than Juubito was. Madara may not be greater than Juubito, but he's being set up as a larger threat. That much is clear from the end chapter caption; "The worst danger is reborn!"

"Worst" is an ultimatum, it encompasses everything before it, meaning current Madara is the worst possible danger.

(3) Alive Madara > Edo Madara.

I don't know how. It doesn't even make sense, really, since he had an immortal body and infinite chakra beforehand. The only things I can think of is that Madara has been holding back this whole time, because he wanted to fight all-out in a real body, or somehow his revival granted him more potent chakra. I'm inclined to believe the first, as Madara states:

Madara is clearly estatic about being revived in a real body, and he sees it as an advantage. To say he's weaker now is ridiculous.

And also, Alive Madara can now become the jinchuriki , hence why he is happy and not only that he has a plan..... which the alliance is not aware of. So he does have the advantage now rather than as an edo.. however, in strength wise.. his edo form is the stronger one.

So its safe to assume madara wasnt full power either(though he as prime....prime being he was able to use rinnegan and mokuton.)

So a perfect comparion would be this

Edo madara can use shinra tensei (max size 1mile across). He can use it limitless times, but cannot make it any bigger.

Madara(alive) can use shinra tensei(max size 1.1-1.5 miles across). he can only use it like 3 times before depleteing all his chakra. He also can train and train to make larger shinra tensei, and larger chakra reserves.

The thing is, it was stated explicitly by Kabuto that , unlike all the other Edos, he brought Madara back BETTER than he was at his prime...

Perhaps the answer is that he can use the new abilities Kabuto implemented / Madara gained than he was old (Rinnegan) in a more effective way when he is in his own living body (better chakra control, killing intent you name it...).
