Here's a short backstory
Tobi : I’m sorry guys to get you all involved in this, but I really need to help mother.
Gary : it’s ok, now is this where your mother lives ?
Tobi : yes, but after crossing this gate remember to be aware, mom has really twisted ways up her sleeves.
Genji : ok now I’m scared …
Gary : what a wuss !
Genji : I’m not, I’m just too careful.
Gary : sure whatever …
Ame : (stomps on Gary’s foot) silence …
Tobi : can’t you guys act more mature please !
Tobi opens the gate that leads to a long dark room where the voice of the old lady Eiku is heard :
Eiku : kukuku, so you’re here …
Tobi : mother ! I’m sorry but … You’ll stop working with Cyan !
Eiku : and who’s going to stop me ? a talking puppet, a deviant boy, a little girl, a freak ?
Gary : hey ! Genji isn’t a freak !
Tobi : mom please Cyan is a bad person he destroyed the village of my friend here !
Eiku : Silence ! a puppet shouldn’t talk unless its master allowed it !
Tobi : but I’m your son …
Eiku : you’re not, you’re a failure, you’re the son of my desperate tries to return Tobi, You are nothing …
Gary : hey ! he’s your son ! stop talking to him like this !
As gary pointed to Tobi, sudden memories rushed in front of his eyes and subconsciously said the word : « Zhein », then he regained his consciousness …
Eiku : fine then we’ll see if you deserve to be my son (the lights are on, and a group of puppets dressed in an aristocratic-style are seen all over the room) … let’s end this meeting …
The puppets took their weapons out, swords, spears, daggers, axes, and whips and started to charge at the group, Tobi rised his let arm that transformed mechanically into four sharpened claws and boasted : « everyone ! separate ! »
Gary charged at the puppets slashing and evading every incoming attack, but it seems that the puppets reassemble every time they get broken, Gary cursed, Genji was still in his place staring at lady Eiku, and suddenly an idea popped in his head he yelled :
Genji: Gary ! remember the butler these puppets need to be destroyed completely sot hey can stop coming again !
Gary : easy for you to say ! I don’t do anything but slashing !
Ame : I have an idea ! everybody stand back !
Ame then spewed an icy dust from her mouth every puppet got hit by the dust got frozen instanty then she yelled : « Gary try breaking them now », with that destroying the puppets became easier, Gary and Tobi finished all of them :
Eiku : not bad ! but …. (pulling a crane) … how about this
With pulling the crane, trap doors opened from the ceiling and the floor, hundreds of puppets emerged :
Gary : oh man ! like hell !
Tobi : fine then (takes a scroll from his pocket and removes his jacket) I shall use this …
Eiku : what ? where did you get that ?
Genji : what’s that scroll ?
Tobi : with this my father was known as the wind master …
Genji : wait a minute you’re the son of « Zant the wind master »
Tobi : no time to talk, stand behind me …
As Tobi attached the scroll in a gap in his back, a mechanical mouth opened from his chest to his waist, with some mechanical sound the scroll starts to roll and a fierce vaccuum wind started to pull every puppet toward Tobi, as any puppet was about an arm-length from Tobi it’s crushed into dust, Eiku tried to move her puppets away the vacuum field, but they weren’t responding to her, they were moving according to Genji that threw them in Tobi’s vaccum storm :
Ame : Genji ! you can control puppets ! but how ?
Genji : I dunno ! It’s just out of my control like my fingers are moving on ther own !
And so every single puppet was crushed lady Eiku seemed too angry, she takes out a small card with some talismans written on it and threw it on the floor started to melt strangley :
Gary : oh no not that again !
Genji : what’s it ?
Ame : the night you transformed into that tree the ground and the houses melted like this too …
Tobi : something’s bad is coming.
As the floor stopped to melt, a hand than a head than it’s revealed to be a medium size demonic puppet emerged.
Gary : haha ! you must’ve lost your mind, this is nothing !
As Gary slashed the puppet hastily, the puppet grew another half body from that cut :
Gary : what the hell !
Eiku : (evil grin) kukuku, meet my masterpiece ! Chimera puppet !
Genji : it seems that this puppet regenrates new parts whenever it loses some…
Tobi : then I’ll crush it !
Tobi started his vaccum storm mechanism but the moment the puppet got near him, the floor and the surrounding area started to melt and the puppet doesn’t seem to be damaged, but worst it grows new parts :
Gary : What is going on here ?
Ame : it doesn’t seem to be a normal puppet.
Genji : no the puppet is normal, but the spell that summoned it … it was strange.
Tobi : any plan guys ?
Genji : (removes his gloves) It’s a bit risky but if got to hold your mother, I’ll drain her magia and this puppet will stop responding …
Eiku : hehehe, that would’ve worked, but look (she showed him her arms) …
Genji : her fingers aren’t moving, she doesn’t control that puppet.
Gary : then how in hell name this thing is moving ?
The chimera puppet slammed, Gary through the wall, the hit was so strong that he lost his conscious, Ame ran toward him to heal :
Eiku : Hehehe, one down three rest.
Genji : (stares at lady Eiku he noticed some semi-transparent power field around her) that’s it !
Tobi : (blocking chimera arm) did you discover something ?
Genji : she doesn’t control the puppet, the puppet attacks anything in sight, your mother isn’t attacked because there’s a jamming barrier around her so that’s why Chimera doesn’t sense her magia…
Tobi : and the plan is ?
Genji : try to distract it I’ll try to get your mother…( put his hands on the ground) … c’mon don’t fail me …
Unaware of the chimera puppet generated hands, the floor under Genji is blown apart Genji fell to the floor level :
Tobi : Genji !
Eiku : Now puppet nothing left …(she notices some roots growing) what ?
Tobi : Genji ! is that you ?
Genji : (from the bottom of the house) Tobi ! take Ame and Gary to safety … !
Tobi : right now ! (he reatreat and carried Ame and Gary away)
And a huge branching tree grew from Genji’s back and continued to grow in a crazy rate that covered the whole house in branches, the Chimera puppet was crushed under the pressure of the Genji’s tree, and because there’s no space left the puppet couldn’t regenerate any part :
Ame : (held along with Gary by Tobi) Now Genji, How’bout stopping to grow ?
Genji : I’ll try ( he takes his fists from the ground ) come now please stop !
Surprisingly the tree stopped from growing and dettached from his back gently, he climbed his tree to the highest room where lady Eiku was stuck between branches he approaches her but she moved her fingers fastly and a sharp-clawed puppet arm emerged from the ground heading to him, but a tree branch grew fastly to encape him :
Genji : how ? my wood’s supposed to drain magia from the captured victim … unless you’re…
Eiku : (struggle in the branches) you didn’t see the last of me … !
Genji : (approches her and stares in her eyes) you’re a puppet aren’t you …I couldn’t drain your magia because you weren’t made of flesh.
Tobi : is that so mother …
Eiku : it’s true …that’s all a cost to see my son again.
Tobi : what ?
Eiku : I think I should’ve told you, the day you tried to master your father’s vaccum storm your body got torn to pieces, I was too desperate that I’d do anything to see you again, one day a man from the empire convinced me that he knows a ressurection rituals to bring the dead, I agreed, but because your real body is destroyed I couldn’t but to make an identical puppet to you, and so your consciousness has been moved to the puppet body, but it seems the rituals had its drawback that turned me to a puppet …
Tobi : but why ? why do you work with such person like Cyan ? you know that the empire never come with good…
A portal opened and a man is seen upside down walking on a branch toward them :
Genji : Cyan !
Gary : it’s you who was behind all this !
Cyan : (smiles and waves) Hi everybody I’m Cyan, and you’re Gary I suppose, and Genji did you like my present ?
Gary : don’t play games !
Gary jumped at him to slash him, but Cyan sent a strong wind burst that sent him flying to the wall, than branches trapped him, but he smiled :
Cyan : oh you learned to control your power… that’s great ! and what’s this it drains magia too !
The branches seemed to rot and fell on the ground …
Genji : what ?
Cyan : anyway I just came to take what belongs to me (he approches Eiku) right granny Eiku …
Tobi : rushes at him but his attack slipped through Cyan, Cyan put his hand on Eiku’s head and gently took her soul, Eiku’s puppet body crumbeled to pieces , Cyan waved and sayed : « That was a nice meeting now excuse me, bye » before he teleported away …
Tobi kneeled in sadness for his deceased mother, the group made a fine burial for her, and set to continue on their journey when Tobi stopped them :
Tobi : wait guys …
Gary : what is it ?
Tobi : ….mind if I joined ?
Gary : look I’m sorry, but this trip seems to be more dangerous than it’s supposed to be, I really don’t want anyone to get involved but…
Tobi : I’ll have my revenge ! from the empire and from that Cyan guy !
Gary : fine … (to himself) what if I was related to that criminal would that make me an enemy to Tobi …
And so the group headed to the town of Leci …
