Now whoever reads this - if you hate know that i realize this might be a crazy theory so i don't give a single ** about the hate - comment and be civilized
And i believe that Just like the Obito theory - this will Come true Despite the hate -

- What i think , given the certain series of Events - The Uzumaki were guardians , Directly related to the Sage.
Now let me bring somewhat proof to my argument
Points worth Noticing
- FIRST - the Uzumaki were never said to be the Descendants of the Senjuu, as a lot of people like to think - They were Said to be distant blood Relatives to the Senjuu

As u can see the Uzumaki were allready a well established clan when Hashirama was alive
- Second - Uzumaki were known to be the keepers of the Shinigami - this confirms my theory of Guardians , ill explain

- The Uzumaki were known for their longevity and Life force and strong bodies able to hold the kyubi for generations

- Naruto has the Sage of 6 path's Silhouette in Bijuu mode due to Kushina's Uzumaki blood - as the 9 tails stated

- Naruto was said to have a Large Pool of chakra was due to his Uzumaki bloodline , so Uzumaki have large pools of strong chakra to be able to resonate with the Tailed beasts
Story :
at the beginning of time there was a group of People who were the guardians of the Seals , they were a special group of people who were keeping the balance between good and bad(that is why they never took part in the Senjuu vs Uchiha fights as Senjuu allies) , and at the time of the Juubi attack the Sage of 6 paths was chosen as their leader.
Once in a while a Prophecy would be made on who will be the one to confront the Juubi and become it's host , - this time it was the Sage of 6 Paths.
As the Uzumaki were and are Skilled sealers it was only them who could easily manipulate large amount of seals due to their Huge chakra pools.
The sage's theory was that one day all the tailed beasts will be brought back to one to know what true power is and the tailed beasts confirmed it was Naruto. So this was another prophecy made by the Sage - or just implying what will happen
So Naruto is the next Sage of 6 paths basically.
So why was the Uzumaki clan Massacred ? - here my story takes on the Avatar the last air bender turn.
The Uzumaki clan existed at the time of the Hashirama vs Madara fight , they disappeared afterwards. Thus my theory is - Madara by controlling the hidden mist village raged war on the Eddy village of the Uzumaki . Uzumaki were the only one capable of stopping madara's eye of the moon plan due to the Prophecy that once in a while an Uzumaki will come to confront the Juubi . So he decided to exterminate each and every one of them and Leave Nagato - as the sacrifice and vessel to the rinnengan for him to be able to revive Madara to complete his plan.
Obito's attack on the leaf was Just a soft spot to kill Uzumaki Kushina - as it was the most suitable situation and thus Getting rid of the last known Uzumaki
So basically my point is Uzumaki were the Parent clan to the Uchiha and Senjuu
The sharingan ? Just like Naruto in Fox mode, the Sage's eyes were taking form of the Juubi's eye , in a form of a Rinnengan . Thus granting him the visual power. And the power ups such as Susanoo and tsukuyomi are an evolution of the Spirit of the Sage of the 6 paths

And with the Senjuu it is obvious - it was His body traits , such as large chakra pools that were given to the younger son
