I have a quick suggestion to make, with regards to infractions which subsequently lead to bans. There are some cases I am sure, where there is a slight misunderstanding between the mods and members, which may lead to an infraction which is somewhat unjust. This can, in some cases, lead to a ban. I propose that a section be made for banned members only, called a "court section" or something alike. This section would be for members to try and explain or justify the fact that they weren't actually breaking the rules, and IF(and only if) a moderator deems his explanation acceptable, then the ban would be overturned. Otherwise, the ban would stay on.

The reason I pose this suggestion is because under the current system, if there is actually a misunderstanding, you either have to hop on an alt and contact Zise/Caliburn/other admins, or get a friend to do the same for you. Both of these are rather inconvenient, and the former is probably rule breaking to boot.

It's not necessarily a bad idea, at first glance, but there are issues inbound with it. To start, most members aren't just banned right off the bat, rather, they usually end up banned due to an accumulation of active infraction points. Now, even if one has an active point and then gets, say, a two-pointer (1-day ban), that's just a single day of no NB usage. Yes, the staff can make mistakes at times, we are not infallible, nor are we omnipotent. Still, letting banned members have the capacity to post in a section means that there'd be no way to reign it in, should it come to be abused by trolls and the like. At its easily foreseeable worst, the section would become useless as banned accounts of members and their alternative accounts could simply spam the section to no end. Also, if they're already banned, what more could the staff do to them in such an instance? Deletion of accounts is undesirable. Lastly, going to Zise or another admin, if you know an infraction/ban is truly unjustified is your best bet. Normal moderators cannot reverse infractions, that is a feature afforded only to global moderators and admins, so, one of them will have to deal with the issue anyhow. The admins aren't going to ban an account for correctly pointing out an unjustified infraction, so long as it's surely unjustified and there's no doubt.
