Orochimaru . The most twisted character in this manga. Why is he so evil?. Heres a bunch of various theories i created.
Theory 1.
Theory 1.
Orochimaru used to be benevolent ninja along with his teammates. But he was born during the 1st ninja world war that left him traumitized. His parents were killed in front of his very eyes leaving him an orphan. Then during the second great war when Tsunade's brother was killed, Orochimaru decided to seek immortality no matter the sacrifice and the cost./SPOILER]

While being trained by Hiruzen he realized how far above his teammates he was. Wanting trainining that would be worth his while, he joined Danzo'z Root. Under the harsh training of Danzo he lost his conscious and became a ruthless killer that wanted to only cater to his own interest.
Theory 3.
Orochimaru noticed the corruption of the leaf higher ups. He noticed his teachers acceptance of the evil ways and he lost his will of fire. He deigned to destroy the leaf village and restart it from the ashes. For that he needed an army which led to his experiments ok infants and his own body./SPOILER]

Orochimaru was in love with Tsunade. Tsunade loved Dan tho. Oro was jealous and deemed if he couldn't have her then he would destroy everything. Cant be ruled out since Obito is basically doing the same.

Madara's manipulation went further then Obito and Nagato. Orochimaru one day, stumbled across Madara's secret hideout. Madara who knows the release seals to edo tensei, probably taught Oro the jutsu. Also telling him abebout the corruptness of the village.
Oro ,knew Obito's real identity. So he could have ran as a middleman to Obito and Danzo. Leading to them meeting. Oro is actually working under Madara .

Theory 5.
Danzo and Orochimaru planned the Sound village attack on the leaf. Oro promised to wipe out the village elders with help frok Oto and Suna, while Danzo and his Root would stand out of the way . After Hiruzen and the elders were dead Danzo would become Hokage and Oro would have many more corspes to work on.
